The customer service here sucks! I walked in and everyone at the front desk ignored me and looked away in order not to have to communicate with me. Keep in mind that I was there bright and early. I was the only customer. Once, I was finally greeted, I was told that the dog I came to adopt already had 2 pending applications, yet he was still listed on the website as available. I was also told by the front desk staff that the lady who had the dog was a regular adoption customer and had other small dogs. This seems like nepotism to me. I was also motioned to walk-thru the corridors to view other dogs and cats that were available. I walked into the dog kennel and everyone scrambled in order not to make eye contact with me. I was not greeted with a smile, nor was I encouraged to interact with the dogs. I was discouraged from putting in an application for this particular dog or any other animal. Please consider training the front desk and kennel staff about tolerance and true customer service. I walked in prepared to make a sizeable donation regardless to whether or not the dog I chose was available but I was so turned off by the mood of the employees, It actually made my stomach turn. Please update the listings online to reflect whether or not an animal has a pending adoption/application. This will not only save potential applicants from making empty trips to Shelby Farms, but will also clear up any confusion associated with the "adoption process"!

i have a concern ..there is a dog at 1341 old hickory, memphis 38116 address .its tied up in the back yard of this address ..cold , no house, in the mud , with a chain on its neck ..neglected ..its in danger of health .the dog has been in this back yard in the mud for over a month ..it used to howl and cry ..now its silent, skinny ..thanks if someone could see about this animal
