Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center

Let me start by saying just how terrible this place is. This facility should be closed down, and I do mean permanently. I had a family member in Glen Ridge for a short time and had to get her out of there less than a week later. She was treated horribly, yelled at by the manager of the floor, belittled in front of whoever was around, and, the final straw came when they gave her the wrong medication. That was it for me; I had seen MORE than enough!



Also, there is a patient on the Maplewood Unit that has sexually assaulted female residents numerous times. NOTHING is done about this. I think it is a shame that the female patients are in constant fear around this man! They also have a patient who is a heavy user of illegal drugs, heroin to be exact. Just check with the Medford Police Department! I think this whole establishment is outrageous and something surely needs to be done!



Yet another disturbing incident occured while my relative was a patient there. Several of the nurses reported to the Director of Nursing, Patricia Stasiowski, that there was a man that was not doing well at all and wanted to send him to the hospital. She would NOT allow this. The nurses told me that they were instructed by Patricia, that the man should stay at Glen Ridge because their census was so low and that they needed to keep a certain number of patients in the building to get paid. It's all about the money there. THey do not care about the well being of residents. When I say "they", I mean the higher-ups: Michael Bell, Administrator, who will not speak to employees unless they send him an email telling him that they wish to do so, and who never gets involved with anything. He runs and hides in his office and doesn't interact with any of the patients or employees. Patricia Stasiowski, Director of Nursing, is a mean, heartless woman. Just look at her working history. She has been a director at nearly every nursing facility in the area. Why is this? She certainly doesn't care about the patients, as stated above. I heard that she had come in and fired several good employees simply because she did not "like them." Nobody will stay in that facility, patient or employee, because of the work "ethics" of the director of nursing and administrator.



I would never, ever recommend this horrible place to even the worst of my enemies! I do mean that, from the bottom of my heart. Not after the way my relative was treated there. I know about all these things because I became good friends with one of the nursing managers there...just in case you were wondering how I had all of this information.
