UPS Customer Center

The following occurred 19 June 2020, 6:00pm. My mother and I brought 7 boxes to ship to her house. The heaviest weighed 60lbs. The lightest was 16. None of the boxes was over 60" in any dimension. The man and girl working the front told us they could not tell us how much it would cost to ship the boxes until after they were processed in the back. The charges would appear later in the evening. The girl measured the boxes and gave us carbon copies. We made the mistake of not reviewing them before leaving. I later learned that I was charged over 1200.00 for the boxes. $156.24 one time and $187.17 six times. The girl who did the measuring made sure to make the dimension for height was 60". This was most definitely not true. My mother called the customer service line and learned in the UPS system the 7 boxes weight was listed as 150Lbs. they also said that because the dimension was 60", UPS charged the maximum rate. The UPS store branch on Redbud Blvd in McKinney is not a reputable, trustworthy and honest business. Whether the two counter workers acted alone or this is a corporate directive to rob trusting patrons is irrelevant. It's apparent to me that their is a huge lack of integrity in their treatment of customers. BEWARE, make sure you review your carbon's before leaving. Take pictures of the boxes you are shipping. Of course you could always save yourself the trouble. My advice would be to just use their numerous competitors instead, as I will be doing.
