Rio Tan

Place is nasty and people are so rude. Tanning beds are dirty and not sure what's going on in the back room. My daughter and I will never go back.

No long term commitment, the don't take your credit card number & charge you every month. They have everything you need when you walk inside of your tanning room, including googles. They have very sweet girls working there who will make you feel comfortable and nobody is fake there. They don't try to just get your money, they earn it by making you feel at home. It's my tanning go to salon. I love it!

Recommendation- Do not go to RIO TAN. Apparantly the owner believes in making $ by ripping people off. I cancelled my package and they still drafted my account.

I have been trying to contact her for 3 weeks now. She refuses to return my calls.

I know the poor girls who work in there are tired of hearing from me but it has to fall back on someone if the owner doesn't do HER job. Thru an employee, the owner was going to mail my refund, which I STILL have not received. BBB and fraud charges will be filed!!!!

I bought a spray tan package at the Hoover location. After my first spray, I noticed that I had run marks all down my calf. I went in two days later (wearing pants) and said that I wanted to exchange the package for a regular tanning package because I was unhappy with the results. The girl told me that they don't do that.



She also said that she hated the spray tan there and if I didn't mind driving to McCalla, I could go to a super duper deluxe Versa Spa spray tan if I just paid more money. I told her that it isn't convenient for me to drive to McCalla. The girl also said that she would never get in the spray tan booth at the Hoover store. That's after she told me that I couldn't have a refund or an exchange.



So then I bought a month's unlimited tanning package just to get rid (or cover up) the spray tan as soon as possible.



After I left, I started thinking about how terrible that was for the girl to tell me that she hates the spray tan equipment at the Hoover location but she wouldn't give me the opportunity to exchange my package even though she knew the equipment was faulty. In fact, she even said it was faulty!!!!



So, I've attempted to call a store manager/owner for three days now. I've left four messages at both locations and still, no one calls me back.



100 dollars later, I realize that even though it's not a sunburn, Rio burned me!!! Stay away!!!!

So far I have been to the McCalla location. (Can't wait to visit the Hoover location!) I was knocked down by how much the employees there knew. I have been tanning for years, and have never been told why it was important to use anything other then the regular 20 minute beds! Then, the employee took me around there salon & introduced me to all of there beds. All of there beds looked just like new, and not to mention every little thing in each room was placed just right. Something you usually don't see. To make a long story short, I am so happy that I have found a salon that is SOOO a cut above the rest! I will post another review soon to let you all know how I enjoyed my time @ the Hoover location!!! Can't wait! Going there Friday!!!





***UPDATE*** Well as I said, I would be visiting the Hoover location this past Friday! Love'd IT! It is the very same atmosphere as there McCalla location! Friendly staff, clean, and they are expanding their salon! I was so excited to see this!!! Never been so enthused over something so simple... tanning!!! It makes me feel like a whole new person, along with the upbeat but @ the same time calming atmosphere! i am so happy to have found a salon that I really love! Thanks Rio Tan! Will be reffering Family & friends!!! :)

I have tanned at both the McCalla and the Hoover Rio Tan salons and they are absolutely fabulous! Not only are they the cleanest tanning salons I have ever stepped foot in but the tanning equipment is very top of the line and always in great shape. The employees are so helpful and are always giving my advice on how to boost my tan and help me find the best lotion for my skin. I will not tan anywhere else now that I have had the Rio Tan experience!

I have been tanning for over 10 years and was pleasantly surprised at the experience I had at Rio Tan. The cleanliness of the salon was the first thing I noticed, but the impeccable equipment and the super helpful staff sold me on becoming a recurring client. This is by far the best tanning experience I've ever had. I'm glad to call myself a client for Rio Tan and looking forward to my next visit!

I have tanned at both locations( Hoover and McCalla) and I love these salons. Everyone that works there is so helpful and can answer all of my question. Everytime I go tan it is a true delight! I would recommend to anyone that if you are searching for a good place to tan than you should defiantly check out one of the Rio Tan locations. I would not tan anywhere else!!!
