General Info: The Maryville Lions Club was established on March 21 1938 by twenty-one prominent businessmen of Blount County. Their objective, which is still our objective today, was to provide aid to the underprivileged in an effort to improve quality of life. Today we provide free vision screenings to daycares, head starts, preschools, and kindergartens, and we help with state-mandated chart vision screenings in later grades. We also provide free eyeglasses to those who need them, and sponsor much needed surgeries.
Services/Products: Free SureSight Vision screenings up to age 6. Assistance with state-mandated school chart screenings. Free eyeglasses to qualifying applicants (must qualify for food stamps). Assistance with eye surgery costs (must qualify for food stamps).
Location: We serve Maryville, Tennessee and surrounding areas. When resources are available, we reach out as far as Blount County.
Amenities: Fundraising (White Cane, Nuts Sales, Etc.)
