Our area was under a hurricane watch during this event. Considering Hurricane Ike was passing through our area the day before this customer's party, I informed the customer that if the winds were over 20 mph that it would not be safe for her children or her guests. The customer's order was placed on a standby status pending the weather, which she understood when I talked to her the day before the party. The following day the winds and gusts were still blowing very hard and all customers were either rescheduled or cancelled as per prior conversations. All of the customers except this one was grateful that I had the children's safety in mind. This customer had previously informed me that her party would go on no matter what the weather condition was like. I am not a greedy business owner that will deliver my products in unsafe conditions just for the money. It is unfortunate that this one customer was more interested in having her party during hurricane conditions rather than consider the safety of her guests. As far as her $40.00 deposit, I would gladly refund her as I did all the other customers. But on the same token, I should not have been threatened for making a sound business decision for my company and the safety of her children and her guests.
