Being a single woman, going to the mechanic can be a nightmare. I was raised helping my dad work on cars so I know enough to not get swindled, but most shops will assume I’m ignorant and/or talk down to me. I had issues with my clutch summer 2021 and was calling shops to get quotes for a clutch replacement. I called southside at the recommendation of a friend and Jerry insisted I bring it in for them to look at, properly diagnose it, and give me a quote - for free. I begrudgingly and reluctantly agreed, but boy was I glad I did. They easily spent an hour looking over everything and found the cause for my clutch issues (it wasn’t the clutch) and saved me well over $1k. And as promised, didn’t charge me at all. Since then, I bring my car (02 Honda Civic) here for my routine oil changes and maintenance. They do routine inspections and let me know what sorts of maintenance needs to be done and are honest about if it can wait, and how long it can probably wait for. I’ve watched Jerry explain the mechanics of vehicles and their issues to other female customers with an amazing amount of grace and patience and, again, no sort of talking down to them. I have referred several of my own friends here and will continue to bring my vehicle here for as long as I have one and live in the area.
