River City Tire Service

We, too, have had problems with this business. They charge hundreds of dollars more than other auto service/repair shops in the area, which we discovered when we went to a long established tire service in town because the belts on all 4 brand new tires we had gotten at RCT separated within the very first year. They also either do not know what they are doing, or they deliberately pad their bills with unnecessary repairs.My husband bought a used 4WD truck, and could not get the 4WD to engage. When he took it to River City, he was told that the truck needed a whole new front differential at nearly $2000. He then took it to another well-known reputable auto service center, and was told there was absolutely nothing wrong with the 4WD. All that was necessary was to allow the truck to creep forward slightly after engaging the 4WD to get it to work. Since this is the way the truck is intended to work, any competent auto service person should know this.

I fully agree with the first reviewer and had the same problem but worse. The shorter man at the counter was downright rude and treated me, a young woman, completely different than every man who came through the door. I came in complaining of my brakes making a small noise and needed an estimate.



After paying 43 dollars for an estimate, he came out whispering about how nearly the entirety of the braking system needed replaced for nearly $1,500. (Damage he said was long term, yet my car has been in shops a few times since I got it last year.)



Needless to say,I left and took my car down the road to an ETHICAL, reputable mechanic. He did the work my car really needed for $400 and showed me exactly where the problem points were without being asked.



Needless to say, don't waste your money or time here. I'm honestly appalled.

Good people - good service...

After taking my car to River City Tire for a estimate, their quote came in $300 higher than Sterling Tire (on 2nd St.) . When I picked up my car to take it to Sterling Tire, I was rudely told that I owed $48 for the "estimate" because I had decided to take my car elsewhere.

My 2 cars have been serviced there in the past, only to have failed again soon thereafter. Save your money, go with Sterling Tire! Fast service, (my repairs were done in only 3 hours) and I wasn't charged anything for a quote.
