Avas Flowers

I called at last minute to have flowers delivered to my friend for her birthday. The young man that answered the phone and walked me through website purchase. Not only he gave me a good recommendation about flowers and he gave me an extra discount for the same day delivery!

This is the worst flower delivery service I've ever experienced.

On Thursday I ordered a small bouquet to be delivered to a friend at work on Friday. It was for my friend's birthday, which was on Saturday. The web order did not indicate this would be a problem. A few hours later I got a call from Avas stating that the particular bouquet I selected wasn't available at the price I paid, and if I still wanted it I would have to pay more. Obviously I wasn't pleased to hear this news and they offered as a consolation to instead deliver 2 dozen roses with a box of chocolates. I agreed to this and they confirmed it would be delivered to her at work Friday. A little later that day I reviewed the order confirmation I received by email and it showed that delivery wasn't scheduled until Saturday, which would be a problem since her birthday was Saturday and she would not be at work to receive them. So I called Avas back immediately (still Thursday) and the manager explained that the flowers were being shipped by UPS and that Saturday was the soonest it could get there. Displeased at this news since the earlier representative assured me FRIDAY they would be delivered, asked what could be done, and he told me they could be delivered to her home on Saturday. I wasn't sure she would be home to receive them but agreed as at least there would be a chance she would get them. So we agreed to have the roses and chocolate delivered Saturday. Flash forward to Sunday. I check the delivery status online and it shows "delivered on Saturday". However I receive a message from my friend that they didn't receive a package. I call Avas and they confirm that while the website shows delivered, they see that it hasn't been delivered, and offer to make arrangements to have flowers delivered on their next available delivery day which is Tuesday.

This flower service is unreliable and disorganized.
