Geno's Italian Grill

We love Geno's, have been there before and just loved it...so decided for Valentine's and hubby's birthday we would make reservations and dine there....what a mistake that was! Sat down and waited 15 minutes for a waitress to come by and bring us water....that wasnt so bad as it was busy, but gosh, weren't you expecting busy, it was Valentines' and you advertised a special menu? Your wait staff ran around looking frazzled like they had never had a busy night before. So, we ordered filet as the pork had been sold out, okay that was fine too, special entrees sell out. But, out of mashed potatoes...really??? I asked the waiter if it was too late to change my mind (1 minute after ordering) and he said it was....didnt realize he couldnt walk back to the kitchen and ask for the filet to be cancellled...sure wish I had pushed the issue.....Then the filets were served...well 1 plate was a filet the other plate was what looked like a petite sirloin that was was about 1/2 inch thick and tough as leather...and certainly not medium....no, not a filet. So, sent it back and waited 25 minutes for a new filet...So hubby ate alone and then finally the second filet came out...which this was time was a filet and it was good. Then the bill came...if I was a waiter and the owner was sitting 2 feet from the table where the 4 ounce $24.95 filet was crap, I would have said...hey we have a problem....but no.....so our bill was $73 for 2 filets and a bottle of wine. No, not worth it. So disappointing for a locally owned restaurant to have done such a poor job.
