Mediterranean Cafe

Don't put too much weight on them, just as this one. My experience with this place has been confined to a $6 plate of food called the Akin's plate. It has all the elements of Mediterranean food in one meal: lamb, and pita, and and spices. Try it and don't knock it until you do...it doesn't have a line out the door every lunch for no reason.

When I go to a restaurant I expect it to look clean and when you first walk into mediterranean cafe that is not case. Its a run down enviornment considering the amount of business they get through out the week. Behind the counter there are at least 8 people working for the amount of space. The employees are rude and stand around. My last experiance i was talking on my cell phone which is my right and when it was my turn to order I simply put my phone down and they refused to serve me till I hung up my phone and to make it worse they told me I need to show respect!! had they said it in a nicer fashion instead of yelling at me it wouldn't have been so bad. I do not feel that a customer should be treated so when its their money thats helping the business along. When i got my food I went back to work and started to eat my meal, not even half way through i noticed a baby cockroach in my rice!!! when I called to complain they simply said I was lying and refused to do anything about it even though I said I would bring it in for proof. Im not sorry to say I wont be eating at Mediteranean cafe EVER again. So if you like bugs and poor service I suggest this place. good luck

Maybe it's because I'm used to Middle Eastern food from Chicago, but I was terribly disappointed in the Mediterranean Cafe. The falafel tasted like cigarette butt, the pita bread was stale, the hummus was unremarkable. Maybe their meat-based entrees are better, but I definitely would not go back at this point. The service was pretty lackluster as well -- a little too laid-back maybe.
