I could give these people less than one star, I would. Reports of fraudulent practices, slumlord practices, tenement conditions, filth and leaks and rodent and bug infestations are everywhere. These people are rip-off artists extraordinaire, and you should run screaming in the other direction before you do business with them.
If you are desperate enough to rent or buy from them, record every conversation. Get every promise they make in writing. You will have to inspect the property yourself, because they surely will not. Document everything. Take pictures of everything. Open every cupboard, every drawer, inspect every window and screen. In short all the doors open and close. Check all the hardware, the electrical, the plumbing. Check the heating registers for Filth and debris. Poke your nose into every corner of every inch of any property you look at. Test every appliance for functionality. Run the washer if there is one. Run the dishwasher, if there is one. Do not take their word for anything. They are consummate liars.
