Horrible phone response after hours, it's 8pm for God's sakes. I guess if there's no secretary there's no way to contact anyone. You've got to do better Cambridge East.
The phone rings once or twice then goes to a busy signal......Not good for business.

They are horrible I would not send during grass there. Giving away people's rooms there staff must have gotten there license from a van in a alley.

Had my mother at Cambridge East for a week because of insurance and availability problems. Got her moved to Georgian East in Grosse Pointe Woods after resolving insurance problems.

Although most of the nurses or CENA's do care and do try, the communication between all areas is almost non-existent. Contacting the social worker, the director, or anyone else is basically leaving a message a hoping somebody will return your call.

The amenities are also sub-par. There are no telephones or televisions in the rooms. I asked for one for my mother and they did bring up an older TV. But no cable, no extension cord, and no remote available for the television. They said maintenance would bring up these items, but after two days of waiting I got it working by bring in my own cable and extension cord.

Mom was placed in an old crank bed, so she couldn't even raise or lower her bed without help.

Rehab only happens once a day. Plus when we got approval for mom to move, we had to chase PT to get them to send over the PT notes. Then they said they sent them, but they didn't arrive. I called call again and got a snotty response from the director and had to sit on the phone and wait while they were faxed to ensure they made it.

The food is also sub-par and the dining/common area looks worse than a bar area of a fraternity after rush week.

Do not send any family members there if you really care about them unless like my wife and I had no choice.

A month ago my disabled and ill brother was tossed into Cambridge East because he had no insurance. St Joseph Mercy Hospital, Pontiac, decided to stash him away in this hell home to let him die. One dinner they fed him was a plate of iceburg lettuce with shredded carrots and vinegar, two slices of white bread and two pudding cups - Do you call this healthy food? I don't. He was not allowed out of his room, much less physical therapy, which I was told he would have. Basket weaving and water colors were the only 'therapy' he had. In my opinion I would NOT allow my loved ones to walk through the front door of this facility, much less live there. Cambridge East is a home for a slow death and I do not recommend this facility to anyone.

If you do not care for your family and just want to get them off your hands, this is your place. The first room I was shown the bathroom was terrible. My wife spent one night two days removed from double back surgery. She had to beg all night for her pain meds and received none and no care from a nurse. She even had to got to the bathroom with no help. This facility I would not recommend to my worst enemy. The one star I had to give to publish this warning is way too high of a rating.

My father was at Cambridge recently while battling late stages of alzhiemers at the young age of 72 and unfortunately he has now passed away. When no other skilled/assisted nursing facility would take my father (even as private pay), Cambridge did and that was such a blessing. The facility is a little old and tired, but it was clean, well equipped and well staffed. The professionalism, level of care and compassion that Cambridge provided every single day helped us get through such a difficult time. Our family will always be grateful to Cambridge.

THIS NURSING HOME IS THE WORST NURSING HOME EVER. My father has been working there for over ten years and I don't even know why he still works there. The nurses are terrible towards the residents, some have even stolen some of my fathers belongings every now and then for a laugh, and whenever I walk in to bring something to my dad, the atmosphere is anything BUT friendly from the nurses and residents roaming the halls.
