Yves Dominican Hair Salon

I have never been to a dominican salon and being natural, I ONLY get my hair straightened to get trims. Before arriving, I called to find out the price. The stylist mention it will be $45 for natural hair and $10 for a trim. Ok so $55 total.



1) The bristles of the brush MELTED off after my hair was being blown out! I was terrified!! I could only imagine what was happening to my hair! Then a fine tailed comb was being used to comb through my 4a hair! ummmm not an easy feat. When I mentioned that I would prefer a wide tooth comb, I was told "I have to us this to get it straight".



2) Wellafter being in the salon for 2 hours, Gabriella (stylist) decides to mention that since my hair is long she is charging me $55 WITHOUT the trim. What?!? (BTW there's a white board on the wall that clearly say $45 for natural hair)

When I asked her why she waited until AFTER she had done my hair, she says, "Yeah that's the way it is. You should of known. Your hair is long. $55." I asked to speak to the "Owner" who was of NO help. As I try to explain that this is unfair, Gabriella begins YELLING and CARRYING ON in Spanish and English and threatens to call the police if I don't pay her her money. At this point, it isn't about the money. My issue was the ethics behind it all. It was a HORRIBLE and UNPROFESSIONAL experience. I left WITHOUT a trim and paying $55 for NOT getting what I want.



I will NEVER go back and if you care about hair and being treated kindly, you shouldn't either....

I was so disappointed in my visit on 7/9/11. The stylist Eugenia, washed my hair, put my under the dyer and said she would be back. She never returned and another stylist had to finish my hair only after I asked how long before she would return. The stylist that had to finish my hair didn't layer it properly. I called and spoke to Eugenia on Monday 7/11 /11 around 1:30 pm and explained to her my dissatification. She told me to come in before 6pm and she would correct the problem. I left work early, arrived at the salon at 5:50pm and she was gone. The door was locked and another stylist refused to call her so she could fulfill her promise.



I don't know what happened but the service is horrible and they have the nerve to play Gospel music in the salon. What a joke!

I highly recommend this place. She gave me the style I wanted just by my feeble attempt at desrcibing my new look. She saved my hair from a horrendous job by another salon in Mableton ( I won't say the name). The old salon damaged my hair and colored my hair green. YVES knew exactly how to rescue my hair and make it shine again. I am from Parkslope, Brooklyn and have been in GA for 3 years. I have finally found an artist who can create a style thats classic chic by day and bold trendsetter by night. The pay...new style with precission cut, blow out and flat iron for only $40. What a great price, especially for a married mom of three. It is a no brainer.....check it out....you will be amazed!
