In an era when plastic surgeons were typically trying to speed up their training, Dr. Rowley held herself to a very high standard and completed a full general surgery residency at Creighton University. This included a planned dedicated year of surgical research as well as six months of international surgical training in the United Kingdom. Dr. Rowley was then Board Certified in General Surgery.
Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Milton â€œMacâ€ Rowley founded the practice in 1974, providing expert cosmetic and reconstructive surgery to the greater Lubbock area.Â He graduated from Creighton Universityâ€™s School of Medicine in 1964 and completed his general surgery residency before entering the United States Air Force as a major, where he served in Misawa, Japan, as a general surgeon for three years. He then completed his plastic surgery training with a residency at the prestigious New York University Institute for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. Until his passing in 2019, he worked alongside his daughter, Dr. Jane Rowley.Â While he is sorely missed, his high standards, deep expertise, and compassionate patient care remain the hallmarks of our practice.

Breast Reduction
Overall, breast reduction patients are some of the happiest patients I treat postoperatively. I can honestly not recall a case where the patient did not have almost immediate relief of symptoms related to the size of the breasts. Of course there are scars, but as I tell most of my patients, the only people that will see those scars are those who see you naked. The risk factors are very minimal and patient satisfaction is very high. Itâ€™s very rewarding to see the relief patients enjoy.
Breast Lift
A breast reduction always includes a breast lift where the nipple is repositioned to a higher, more normal position. Tissue is left around the nipple to preserve blood supply and usually preserve most sensation, but the diameter of the areola is often decreased. The patient usually ends up with a scar around the nipple-areolar complex, a vertical scar and a scar in the crease of the breasts. The patient awakesÂ in a soft dressing, and a surgical bra. Patients are usually allowed to shower the day following surgery and discomfort generally is limited to a tight, engorged feeling. Sutures are absorbable, and we rarely place drain tubes. The recovery time for a breast reduction often depends upon the size of the breasts.

Face Lift
Â€œThis is actually a relatively easy procedure that gives very dramaticÂ changes inÂ appearance. Even though only a small amount of fatty tissue is removed, the chin contour will look much better. Often it looks like the patient has lost weight after this procedure. On someone who is even in their 30s and 40s and is starting to get some slight laxity along the skin of the neck and jawline, this can provide enough tightening that they can avoid a facelift for several years.
Abdominoplasty
This procedure is done through a low horizontal abdominal incision. The more skin the patient has, the longer the incision typically is. The skin is elevated off of the abdominal muscles. The skin can be elevated to different degrees and that determines whether or not a scar will be necessary around the umbilicus. After the skin is elevated, it is redraped and excised. The abdominal muscles are tightened at the same time with permanent sutures in multiple layers. Often liposuction for contouring of the hips and thighs occur at the same time as the abdominoplasty. Most patients will have a drain that stays as long as a week and sutures are absorbable. Postoperative pain control is achieved with medications and muscle relaxants and pain pumps are often used. Breast Surgery
That found most people prefer breasts with 45% of their fullness above the nipple line and 55% below it. Participants of the study also said they like breasts to have a more natural, teardrop shape. In their report, the researchers explained that â€œThe 45:55 ratio has universal appeal in defining the ideal breast,â€ and that it should be used as the model for cosmetic breast surgery. This means that the perfect breast size is different for every woman. However, your doctor can help you find the right fit for you by using the 45:55 ratio as a guide.

Laser Resurfacing
Facelift incisions vary depending on the amount of skin laxity, especially in the neck and jaw line. The incisions almost always start above the ear in the hairline and come down in front of the ear and wrap around the earlobe going back into the hair behind the ear for a variable length. The skin is then elevated off of the underlying tissues, and often a tightening of the superficial muscle layers is done as well. Liposuction of the chin and neck area is often performed at the same time. Sometimes, laser resurfacing of the area around the mouth and eyes is used in conjunction with the facelift. The skin is then redraped and excess skin is removed. Great care is taken, so that no tension is placed on the visible portion of the incision. Please note that nicotine restrictions also apply to this procedure.
