Virtual Yoga Flow 2-3
This practice is for experienced students who enjoy a faster pace and postures that challenge your abilities - sun salutations, arm balances, backbends, deep forward bends and twists, head-stand and shoulder-stand variations. This class is for students in good physical condition with no limiting injuries.
Virtual Chair Yoga
Gentle level Hatha yoga class uses chairs, the wall and other props for safety and support. Recommended for students who need help with balance or who have trouble going down to the floor. This class is included with Yoga East memberships.
Virtual Beginning Ashtanga 1-2 (Recorded)
Beginning-Continuing level classes instructs the first 24 postures of Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series. Class includes all the most important postures including Sun Salutations, standing poses, seated poses and relaxation.
Virtual Pilates Mat Class (Recorded)
Join Kara Price for a recorded Pilates class! Our recorded classes are produced the same day they are offered on the schedule, meaning they are always unique and require that you register* as usual. Virtual Gentle Yoga
Gentle Level is ideal for seniors, pregnant women, and students recovering from illness, injury or surgery. Gentle classes are also great for anyone who needs a little rest and quiet from the busy pace of life. Gentle Yoga has a slower pace and the teachers give more instruction on how to use props such as chairs, the wall, blocks, blankets, bolsters for support. Gentle Yoga introduces fundamental Hatha Yoga postures while ensuring that students have time to understand the instructions, and get the props needed to practice the pose to their capacity. This class may include acupressure yoga, chakra yoga visualizations, pranayama and mudras. Class ends in deep relaxation.
Virtual Free Community Yoga 1
Virtual Free Community Yoga 1 is primarily for people who are financially strapped but still need a yoga class. This class focuses on fundamental standing poses, seated poses, easy inversions, and relaxation poses. The teacher will give instructions on how to modify postures for your practice. The postures learned at this level are a necessary foundation for all of our other classes. All yoga classes end in deep relaxation.
Virtual Ramanand's Twists 2-3 (Recorded)
Join us for this recorded Ramanand's Twist 2-3 class! Our recorded classes are produced the same day they are offered, meaning they are always unique and require that you register* as usual. We will practice the seated twists Ramanand Patel taught in his 2017 and 2019 workshops at Yoga East. This class is for continuing-intermediate level yoga students who know to listen to their body, self correct and prop appropriately. *Register at least 30 minutes in advance to receive the email link which includes everything you need to access the recorded practice. You will have 48 hours to view the recording. You will not receive a link to a live stream when you register for any class with the word (Recorded) in the title.
Virtual Core Strength Yoga 2
Building strength is important for yoga and the activities of daily life. As we get older, it becomes even more important to maintain muscle and bone mass. This class practices yoga postures that strengthen the core muscles of the abdomen, back and pelvis and increase upper body strength. Postures include Downward Dog, Plank, Handstands at the wall, arm balances, Boat Pose, leg raises. This is a challenging class, but many modifications are given for new students. Students at all levels will see immediate gains in strength and confidence.

Ashtanga Yoga beginners series taught at a slower pace using props and modifications - makes the Ashtanga Yoga series accessible to all kinds of students.
Virtual Intermediate Pilates (Recorded)

Virtual Restorative Yoga (Recorded)
Restorative Yoga is the use of props to support the body in positions of comfort and ease to support health and healing. This practice is another way to find peace and comfort in our daily lives. Some benefits of restorative yoga are lowered blood pressure, reduced anxiety, and increased feeling of well-being and better sleep. This virtual class will follow the outline of in-person restorative classes. There will be a 10-20 minute gentle yoga practice followed by 2-4 restorative poses. The practice may also include pranayama and guided meditation. Each restorative pose will be explained and demonstrated. Students will have ample time to set-up their own "home" props for each pose. Suggested home props: 4 bed pillows, 2 throw pillows, 2 bath/beach towels, 3 face clothes, 1 light-weight throw. Join us for this live stream of Kettlebells for Yoga! Kettlebells are a unique tool that, like yoga, work your entire body. This class will introduce you to the basic Kettlebell movements. Owning a kettlebell isn't a requirement for this class, as other bodyweight exercises will be incorporated in this practice. All skill levels are welcome to attend.
Virtual Ashtanga Yoga 2-3 (Recorded)
Ashtanga Yoga is a challenging 48 posture sequence that includes sun salutations and postures that move the spine and body in all directions and includes hip openers, arm balances, and shoulderstand and headstand. It builds strength and endurance. Suggestions for modifications are given for students at various levels. This class is not recommended for students with injuries. This is an excellent class to prepare students to attend Mysore Ashtanga.
Virtual Prenatal Yoga 1 (Recorded)
Join Amie Turner for this recorded Yoga for Pregnancy & Childbirth class! The recorded classes are produced the same day they are offered, meaning they are always unique and require that you register* as usual. Practicing prenatal yoga can alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy and help your body prepare for the WORK of birthing. Yoga is an amazing tool to help in this journey. In addition to yoga postures, we also practice relaxation and breathing techniques that will decrease stress and increase overall comfort while creating more space for your growing baby. All expectant mamas are welcome! Continuing level 2 classes are for students who are well-established in a yoga practice, know the fundamental postures, know how to make modifications for their level with and without props, and can self-correct in the postures. As students' ' skills and understanding of yoga deepens, the asanas will as well. More complicated backbends, twists and arm balances are taught at this level. Yoga Sutra readings, pranayama and meditation are also incorporated at this level. All classes end with deep relaxation.

The Heart of Yoga group discusses questions that arise in the practice of yoga, ranging from the latest yoga scandal of the day to deep philosophical questions about why we practice this ancient art. We explore the paths of yoga, the texts of the yoga tradition, question our ethical standards, and share our experiences along the path so that we can learn, understand and grow in our practice and understanding of yoga. Along the way we study the different paths of yoga, the traditional texts of the yoga tradition, Sanskrit pronunciation, history and development of yoga, the theory and philosophy of yoga and contemplate how yoga philosophy is relevant for yoga students today. Class ends with 15 minutes of guided meditation. No experience is needed, and no fee is charged. Donations help support Yoga East's nonprofit mission.
Virtual Sivananda Yoga 1-2 (Recorded)
Join Susan Reid for this recorded Sivananda Yoga 1-2, a wonderful evening practice! Our recorded classes are produced the same day they are offered, meaning they are always unique and require that you register* as usual. The Sivananda practice is a well-rounded sequence of classical Hatha yoga postures that promote physical, mental and spiritual well-being. The postures are ideally done slowly and with control to stretch and strengthen the body as well as open the chakras and stimulate the vagus nerve. Class begins with savasana and breathing exercises. After warming up with sun salutations, the focus is on 12 basic postures. Savasana is inserted between several postures along the way and closes the practice. As students become proficient in the 12 basic postures, variations and additional postures are introduced. All postures can be modified as needed. *Register at least 30 minutes in advance to receive the email link which includes everything you need to access the recorded practice. You have access to recorded classes until midnight the following day the are listed on our schedule. You will not receive a link to a live stream when you register for any class with the word (Recorded) in the title.
Summer Rejuvenation for Yoga East Teacher

$10 Beginning Yoga
This Level 1 Hatha Yoga class provides an introduction to fundamental yoga postures with correct alignment and breathing. Class ends with deep relaxation. No yoga experience is necessary. Students ages 11 and up are welcome. Students with medical restrictions or serious physical challenges are welcome to attend, but please call ahead to our main office at 502-585-9642 to speak to a supervising instructor so we can accommodate your needs. Our reduced rate classes help make yoga available to more people in the Greater Louisville community. $10 classes are included in all membership options.
