I just moved into a new home in a neighborhood serviced by ID. They are the worst trash pick up business I have used anywhere in the country. I just moved into a new home and discovered that ID does not pick up anything not in the garbage can apparently so if you have large boxes from moving or newly purchased furniture/ appliances forget it.

I called after they failed to take it upon moving in and they said I had to call in advacne and say there was extra for them to get it. What is up with that? Then I did that but they left the cardboard boxes becasue there were all broken down and loaded into one of the boxes but not tied . Very frustrating dealing with people who do not want to pick up trash even though it is their job and their customer service is non existent. Welcome to the new neighborhood.

I would give them a total zero if I could . I will certainly write the neighborhood association a complaint.

Serial honker

A review I just left the the better business bureau for industrial disposal // They honk at 5am if a single car is parked In the culdesac. They hit the horn for like five minutes. Apparently their garbage men are not skilled enough to get out of their truck to pick up a can or be able to simply maneuver out of a culdesac. They are not even my garbage men. Every single person on our street has a given their money to a different trash company cause of throughout the last 8 years we have lived here this serial honker has terrorized the whole street except for the new neighbor who doesn't know better, Poor bast***. So unless you like to be abruptly woken up with a jolt of anger with dash of explosive yelling matches cause one day you will walk outside in your undies yelling at the top of your lungs this is the trash company for you!

After a recent 1.9 mile move into Oldham County from Jefferson County I learned that we had no choice for waste service any longer. This should be no surprise, as our wonderful politicians obviously are so much smarter and know so much better what is good for us than we do (enough of that, just my little rant :) ).



At our previous residence we had used Rumpke for 10+ years. Prices were reasonable and the service was great. In ten years I did not have one pickup missed or set one item out that wasn't removed from the curb, including televisions, furniture and doors. Once we neglected to put our cans out and the driver knocked on the door so we wouldn't miss our pickup.



On to my first experience with the exclusive waste company in Oldham County, I.D. The family moving out has more trash than will fit in the two cans. Driver comes by, grabs the two cans and doesn't bat an eye at the other 12 bags of trash sitting at the curb. So here we are ready to move into our new house and the first order of business is disposing of 12 bags of garbage our trash company refused to pickup. ILuckily we still had service at our other home so I was able to load these up and leave them for Rumpke to pickup. I called I.D. to complain and was essentially told that they won't get out of the truck to grab trash which won't fit in the cans. Thanks for that one.



Other experiences since have been similar. They will pickup one "large" item per week, if you call ahead of time. We have set out a tv, grill and old storm door. Of the three I.D. flat refused the storm door because it has glass (can't have that in a garbage truck now), and said they would take the tv,but then didn't because they said it was too large. To their credit they did take the grill.



The other problem we have experienced is with the placement of the cans. We have trees lining the street we live on and these apparently get in the way of the automated lift arm on the truck. Apparently the only place near the curb in front of our house where this isn't an issue is directly in the center of our driveway and on multiple occassions we have come home and had to remove the cans before we can get back in the driveway,. Not a huge deal until you come home in the middle of a downpour.



Bottom line is that if I could I would fire this company in a heartbeat. The sense I get is very much that I can't do anything about the poor service provided by this company and they know it. I am saving $2.50/month, so woohoo. Thanks again Oldham County, keep up the good work.

This is the first time I have had an issue with ID in the 3 years I have lived in Louisville; we were missed on trash day. After reading reviews I was afraid I would not get anywhere with Customer Service, but was pleasantly surprised by the courtesy and general kindness of the rep. They attempted to contact a driver still out on runs and told me at the worst, they would send a driver in the morning. I am very pleased and hopeful that ID will continue to handle my solid waste. Thanks. P.S. Remember when reading other reviews that when someone has a good experience they usually only tell one person, when they have a bad experience they tell at least ten. So your own experience is the only one you can trust.

Keep Looking!

My husband and I decided to change from Waste Management to ID when a sales rep was visiting neighborhood for business. They were cheaper so we said we would change. Well now that our 1 year of "special prices" are over, they decided to not only raise the 3 month fees but also add a gas fee! Prices were not suppose to change especially without notice! And as other review stated, driver will not get out of truck even to pick up the can that he knocked over! Sad that customer service means nothing nowdays to this company. Getting better quotes!

Poor customer service

We had switched to waste management over a year ago because their prices were half that of our other trash service. Their drivers are lazy and won't get out of the truck. When my husband called to report it the customer service rep was cocky and unprofessional. I am looking into switching to waste management. They do more for the environment than any other waste company!
