Overall

Paid almost $1,000 for new flooring. The vinyl flooring had grooves in the design, specifically asked the workers to please lay the flooring so the grooves would be vertical, (otherwise no matter how well you sweep you are basically sweeping out of one groove into the next) if they had done as asked and laid where the grooves were vertical (up and down) and longways instead of a groove every centimeter the flow of the sweeping (due to the layout of the room) would have been in the direction where as the grooves in the floor (put there to give a wood grain effect) would be such as to not trap dirt in the grooves) SO NOW IT IS ALMOST I
MPOSSIBLE TO SWEEP . My mother had thought this through and drawn a diagram of how she wanted her floor laid and went over it in detail with the person in charge, who assured her that it would be done as requested. When the workers were scheduled to arrive they were a 'no show, no call and my mom finally got in touch with the store and was told they were running behind schedule and would be there the next morning. When they did arrive they proceeded to rip up the carpet and baseboards and hauled it off to the dump, not trying to save any base boards and with no replacements for them. Then started to lay the flooring just opposite of what had been agreed upon, when she told them that is not the way she wanted it and it needed to be in the other direction ,was told it would be "too much waste." What should it matter to them? She was paying for it! The impression I got (as they had asked upon their arrival if they could come back after the weekend.) they didn't want to be there and just wanted to do it the quickest most convenient way possible. (for them) So now she is stuck with floors that are impossible to sweep, no base boards ($300.00 to replace) and flooring cuts uneven and starting to come up.
