Oxford Learning

Justin started at Oxford Learning at the beginning of his fourth grade year two years behind in his reading level and poor reading comprehension. At the Londonderry center they were patient when he needed it and tough when he could do it. He enjoyed coming to Oxford and is proud of his accomplishments.



Over the past 7 months he has improved dramatically. He has reached his reading level, has the confidence to tackle books that he otherwise would not have and he feels so good about himself.

Stephanie attended Oxford learning in Londonderry from last September (2010). She enjoyed the tutoring sessions, and never complains about having to go. We noticed many positive changes in her attitude towards school. She started to take take on much more responsibility, getting her schoolwork and homework completed on time, and now has a really good grasp of the study skills that were taught at Oxford. At the end of the academic year, her teacher commented that the tutoring seemed to have worked. Stephanie was taking a difficult test and asked the teacher if she could apply some of the principles she had learned from Oxford (SCRCRC). The teacher responded that she could, and after the test, Stephanie told the teacher “It seemed much easier to understand.” With the help of Oxford, we know Stephanie will be able to reach her full potential as a student and has started well this year (without the extra help).

My Personal Rating based on my experience at Oxford Learning Center in Londonderry NH = POOR

This is a case of being kicked while you're down, an unfortunate experience with Oxford Learning / Tutoring Center in Londonderry, NH. My daughter was enrolled at Oxford from early Dec 2010 to mid April 2011. Her personal experience at Oxford was initially very good however Oxford's tutoring services failed to assist my daughter in raising her grade levels or improving the skill sets needed to sucessfully advance to the 11th grade. After a very lengthy phone call with one of the Oxford Learning Center owners, Richard, we came to an agreement. My daughter would be dis-enrolled from Oxford and services to be discontinued. We also came to the agreement that auto-payments from my personal bank account to Oxford would be stopped. Shame on me for trusting a verbal agreement in this day and age, on June 15th 2011 I noticed in my bank statement that Oxford never ceased taking the auto-payments and withdrew an additional $375.00 from my bank account. I immediately called and spoke with the owner Richard who expressed he did not really remember our 1 hour and 20 minute phone call in April 2011. This issue of miss billing is compounded as I am going very difficult financial times and currently going through bankruptcy. I really feel I have been done a dis-service and have been kicked when down. I have filed a complaint with the NH Better Business Bureau as well. I will also continue to share my experience with anyone who will listen. In my opinion I would not put my childs school development care with people who have treated me with a less an honest manor. My personal experience rating of Oxford Learning Center is "poor" due to their less than honest business and billing practices and that their service did not substantially improve my daughters school grades.
