AMC Theaters

Ok, not going to lie...I am SOOO dissapointed in Yorktown AMC Theater. We drive a long way to come to Yorktown AMC For their Sensory Friendly movies. When I purchased my tickets it only showed three rows of seats which just made me think that we were in a smaller theater. When we got to our seats we were second row from the screen....which is way too close. I mean, I am here for the Sensory Show because I am in toe with three kids with special needs. When I went to the front to ask to change seats I was told that I would have to pay an additional dollar per seat because NOW apparently anything beyond third row is considered PREMIUM SEATING. (This has all changed since our last visit here).

I explained that I am here with kids with sensory issues....hence driving all the way from Lockport to their theater. Kids with sensory issues can't handle sitting that close. I said that I wanted to speak to the manager and he happened to be standing right there. He just blurted our "I can't change prices!" And walked away. He had absolutely no concern. It makes me wonder ..do these people even understand what a sensory showing is and the challenges involved. Completely ignorant.

On another note, when I arrived at our "Premium Seats" the trays were dirty, you could see food residue on them, old food stuck in the cup holders and the chairs are covered in red duct tape because they are all torn. As a girl with hair...my hair kept getting stuck in the glue from the tape.

WAY TO GO YORKTOWN "PREMIUM THEATER" !!! We will NOT be returning.

Oh, and after the sgow I made sure to get the rude manager's name....It was NATE!

This is by far the most comfortable movie/dining experience in the suburbs that we have found. The menu is excellent, service is better in the cafe than inside the theater, but still good. They advertise real butter for the popcorn, which is all-you-can-eat, though you may not eat a lot of it 'cause you can't skip trying an entree, they're that good. Reservations can be hard to get for the blockbusters, so call early. Our only complaint is that they show far too many sappy "chick flicks", not enough action/drama/fright/comedy.
