The Sewer Maintenance unit is a provider of on-call 24-hour services. The unit is managed by the Onondaga County's Water Environment Protection Department, which is governed by Onondaga County in New York. The department has a plumbing control office that licenses and registers journeymen and contractors, as well as reviews plumbing plans and investigates complaints. The Onondaga County's Water Environment Protection Department also offers maintenance solutions for the mechanical equipment, piped utilities, buildings and grounds of more than five treatment plants. The department manages a fleet service group that handles vehicle-related issues. In addition, it analyzes ground water and runoff samples.
