Fairview Kennels

Im really confused by anyone who has had good things to say about this place. I guess none of you have ever bothered to take a tour. I had a reservation to board my dogs here over Christmas. I decided to check it out firsthand. I am so glad I did! This place is disgusting!!!!! Obviously they dont bother to clean up urine or poop as it was in just about every kennel. The dogs were very agitated. Employees were like frenzied crazy people running around and I overheard one of them cussing at a dog. I could not get out of there fast enough. I feel like my dogs narrowly e
scaped the worst week of their lives had I not checked this place out for myself...

I feel compelled to share our experience with as many people as possible. While on a week-long vacation, we boarded our dogs at Fairview Kennels in West Little Rock. When I dropped them off, the girl at the counter couldn't have been more disinterested in me or my dogs. I tried more than once to make certain that there feeding instructions were correct, to which I received a very curt "If you said it, we got it" response. A week later we return to find that our dogs were fed only HALF the amount they should have received the entire week that we were gone. They are lean dogs and missing this much food has left them pathetic and bony. Obviously I was livid and returned to the kennel (my husband and kids had picked them up initially because I had to work) to complain and received condescending responses from the manager such as "Ma'am, they were hardly starved." I called the owner from the parking lot to complain to which he deeply apologized and said he would look into it and get back with me. Two days later I receive a voicemail from the manager, not the owner, saying how sorry he was (insert clearly not sorry tone of voice) and that next time we could expect a 25% discount on boarding services. Uh, no.

I think some of these reviews must be from competitors trying to be mean and not ethical. Fairview is a wonderful place that I know without a doupt loves all their animal guests as through they are their own. The kennel is very clean and each pet is well take care of. I know of no other employees that try to do their best for eadh customer. Shame on you competitors for trying to be sneaking!

This is the last time my dog will suffer due to their negligence in checking vaccinations. First time was 2 years ago when he came home with kennel cough. When I called to tell them I got a "we're very sorry we have had 3 other families call with the same complaint and we will be more careful in the future in checking records'. This past week-end, we unfortunately had to use the kennel again. I made sure to tell them about my experience 2 years ago and was assured that they have stricter rules in place. NOT! My beloved dog now has kennel cough AGAIN! To make matters worse, they told me that they had over 80 dogs over the week-end and that I needed to go back to my vet and blame them!! My dog has boarded twice at our vet, Shackleford Vet, over the past 2 years and has not ONCE came home with kennel cough. These people are out to make money and do not care a bit about proper vaccinations. I have also gone as far as to report them to the Better Business Bureau

In response to spiaza I dont know what kennel you think your talking about but the Fairview Kennels I take my dogs to have plenty of room for the dogs to run around the employees have always been super sweet and careing I dont know what paper your talking about but the only paper I have recieved from them was a report card from daycare telling me how my dog did. The only thing that I have ever smelled when I go in there is dog and I expect to smell that because it is a "DOG KENNEL" it just sounds to me like you are being unreasonably picky because there is no other place I would take my dog.

This is undoubtedly the worst place I have ever left my dog. I felt so bad when I picked him up. The people were rude and I got the feeling that the paper the girl gave me listing what my dog had done each day had all just been written down. It certainly was not listed each day - it all appeared to be made up. I will NEVER under any circumstances leave my pet there again. It smells horrible and the dogs do not have enough room to play. Very inconsiderate people who apparently do not know what they're doing - it's just a job to them. If you love your pet - go elsewhere.

I think this place is great and I leave my dogs here all of the time and have never had them come home smelling like urine. I also bring my dog there for doggie daycare almost everyday and love it! I wouldnt recomend any other place to leave my dog and I have left my dog other places and this is by far the cleanest place I have seen in Little Rock. The people are nice and they seem like they love animals. I have a hard time believing that the people in the office said that. I have been going there for years and those girls up there are so sweet. I was actually recomended there by my vet clinic.

I took my dogs here for a weekend of boarding only for them to come back smelling like dog urine. When I asked them why my dog smelled like this, the guy behind the desk replied, "Well your dog must like to lay in his on urine and that is why he smelled like that". The girl played it off as if he had been playing in his water and that is why he was wet. Well my dogs are 100 percent inside dogs and never lay in there own urine and only go to the bathroom inside when they are sick. When asked how often they go out side, they replied that they stayed in their kennels the whole time and did not get out at all. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I have taken my dogs to various places around town and never had my dogs come home smelling like they did when I left them here,.
