Merchant's Tire and Auto Service Center

I used to work for this place and i can tell you they will lie to your face and sell you things your car does not need. They will push alignments on you because a
corporate guy sends out an email saying he wants x number of alignments a day so the store manager and his counter guys have to meet it. And dont forget the store manager and other service writers all get bonus money for sales so dont think they are telling the truth either. They are all paid to lie. Trust me i saw it first hand, ive been in auto shops my whole life and never met low lifes like this before

I wish I had read these reviews before I took my vehicle here to fix a flat tire while on vacation in Myrtle Beach. Even then, with my hopeful view of humanity, I might have doubted it was possible for one human to so blatantly lie to another one. Congratulations Merchants, you just busted my bubble. These people are outright LIARS. They told me they found a nail in the tire sidewall with a large nail hole that was just too big to fix and proceeded to try to sell me two new tires (since replacing only one was sure to mess up the alignment, WINK). This sounded suspicious, so I had them put on my spare tire and put the defective tire in the spare compartment. I took the tire to Blacks Tire a few miles away to get a second opinion. Not only did Blacks Tire FIX the "unfixable" tire, they said there was NO REASON why Merchants should not have been able to fix the SMALL HOLE created by a SMALL METAL SHARD. Do yourself a favor, stay away from this Merchants Tire shop and hope it goes out of business and gets what they deserve.

Little River made things right after all of the wrong things Merchant in M Inlet did wrong for no charge. They put brand new brakes on machined rotors, which should of been done in the first place Ryan. And they put the right size brakes on my car, unlike Ryans team in M Inlet. So, If you want things done right with quality staff, and a modern facility go see Mike in Little River. They are good honest people who take care of their customers. I'm willing to drive the extra 25 miles for good quality affordable service.

I was there for a coupon maintenance special, and told at the counter my auto manufacturer recommends regular wheel alignments at my current mileage. I immediately knew this was questionable, and later checked the owner's maual. It said nothing of the kind. Later, a second counter guy comes in and starts pushing alignment packages at me, and stands over me trying to sell me an allignment. Won't go into all the detail, but I knew what he was selling was a ripoff. Paid my bill, told my wife never to step foot in there, and plan to tell my friends the same. Oh, and the mechanics were yelling so much in the back I thought there was going to be a fight. Don't waste your time there; too many other good auto shops in the area.

They sounded very professional over the phone and in person acted like they knew what they were doing. All i needed was a new f**king tire. They said they could get right to it. I waited OVER AN HOUR before they even took the car inside the shop! Then, 20mins later, one of the guys comes up to me to tell me that it turns out THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE THE TIRE IN STOCK. Waited another 5-10mins to get my car and was offered nothing but a "sorry".
