Matou African Hair Braiding

I had my hair braided here for the first time earlier this year. The owner ' Matou' is ignorant and don't know how to braid hair. It was messy. The person that put my braids in made them way too tight. She even told me my hair would fall out! What kind of crap is that to say when you are putting someones braids in their hair?The only positive thing is my hair was able to rest, therefore it grew. I had to google to find out how to take care of them. They tell you in their advertisements that they take care of your hair. They really don't. Nobody there told me how to take care of my braids. They just said not to wash them. I went to google and researched how to keep my scalp and natural hair in good condition. They were no help. I was referred to them by someone. Now I want to slap her for referring me to them. She has even had a lot of hair lost. I didn't. Some of my braids did come out. In the beginning I lost about 3-4 braids a week. I had to remove the braids from all of the fine baby hair around the front of my head. This is a terrible place. Then their bathroom is nasty. You can't even flush toilet paper down the toilet. They had a trash can overflowing with tissue that had people's human waste on it. Nasty..Really nasty. They don't EVER have to worry about me returning there to get my braids put in. I took them out myself! Another thing, they say that they accept cash, debit and credit cards. They ONLY ACCEPT CASH. They don't honor their own coupons. The braids were pretty, but that's it. They speak their African language (French) around you. That's really rude! They need to speak English. I have a friend that's African and she is educated; however she did tell me that the majority of African Women are ignorant. They are fool proof of that. I will never return to this place to have my hair braid. EVER again! They did NOTHING to tell me how to take care of my braids. I didn't want to give them any stars, but unfortunately you have to in order to post your experience on this page.

I got my hair did here and my braids start coming out the next day. And two weeks after I had to go to the doctor cause my hair start coming out and they told me I had head fugues. Never had any problems with my hair until I went here

I went there and got mirco braids. They took my old braids out wash my hair and redid it in only five hours. The price was not bad for what i got it was 200$ but it was well worth it not one of my braids fell out. and it lasted 3 months
