Teeth Cleaning
Fluoride is a naturally occurring nutrient that in the right concentrations can decrease cavity formation. We apply concentrated fluoride to the tooth surfaces after your dental cleaning. This is very beneficial for both adults and children. The fluoride in our water system is not always enough to protect our teeth fully. If you live on well water you are not likely to have fluoridated water.
Fluoride Treatment
We do preventive and restorative procedures, such as teeth cleaning with Fluoride treatment on children starting at 3-years old. We offer nitrous which helps children during treatments such as fillings, crowns, extractions. Dr. Hutchinson is excellent with children, working for over a year in a pediatric dental practice.
Dental Sealants
Teeth Sealants are protective coatings that go into the pits and fissures of the teeth and act as physical barriers. This is done so that bacteria cannot colonize within the pits and fissures and cause cavities.

Root Canal Treatment
Dental crowns surround the entire tooth and can be made of porcelain, metal, or a combination of both. Some of the most common reasons that a tooth would need a crown are if the tooth has a large filling that is failing, if there are cracks, if it has broken, or has significant wear that exposes the softer dentin inside the tooth. In these cases there is not enough healthy tooth structure left to support a filling long-term. Dental crowns reinforce teeth that have had Root Canals, and cover and protect the rest of the tooth structure such as underlying dentin.

Periodontal Surgery
This is done after successful periodontal scaling and root planing or periodontal surgery, it includes polishing to remove plaque and stain, then removal of calculus from below and above the gum line. During these visits we also go over nutrition and home care.

Hutchinson Family Dentistry provides fast appointments for all emergency dental procedures. Dr. Hutchinson performs tooth extractions of all but wisdom teeth, and also re-implantation of an avulsed tooth (displacement of a tooth from its socket due to trauma). We can also provide nitrous during emergency procedures.
