Taipei Cafe

I've eaten at Taipei many times - it's okay when you want a bit of Chinese food and don't want to spend a ton of money. Lunch specials are about $6 and include a drink. Atmosphere is strip mall basic - tile floors and basic furnishings. They do a ton of delivery and carry-out business if you'd rather spare yourself the atmosphere. Regarding food, my favorite dish here is the Hunan Chicken - tons of fresh vegetables, a fair amount of white meat chicken, and a tasty sauce. The General Tso's on the other hand, 'funny' pieces of chicken heavily breaded and fried in a sauce that a bit too sweet and sticky for me. Give it a try when you're in the neighborhood and in the mood.

I got food poisoning from eating there. It was terrible...for several days! I've heard from the locals that they leave the meat out in the kitchen instead of the fridge. So basically the meat kinda rots then they finally cook it when you order.
