Sports Medicine
Paul founded Sports Rehab in 1978 when he saw a need to bring Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine together in a rehab setting for all people whether they were professional or student athletes or weekend warriors. He has been the Athletic Trainer for the Kansas City Kings ‘76 and the Kansas City Royals 1980-86. He received his Bachelor of Science at Rockhurst University in 1976 and his Masters of Science in Athletic Training at the University of Central Missouri in 1980. Currently, Paul is the Head Athletic Trainer for Rockhurst High School.
Physical Therapy
Did you know you can come to physical therapy (PT) clinic in Kansas without a referral from the physician first? This is called direct access. In March 2013, the Kansas Legistlature passed a law allowing people to visit a physical therapist directly without first seeing a physician. Most insurances will cover physical therapy services without a prescription from a doctor, PA, or NP. Physical therapy offers many benefits such as healing injuries, reducing pain, and restoring movement. Access to PT is expanding across America and it has never been easier to get the treatment you deserve.

Insurance, states and federal changes are occurring on a daily basis and we continue to expect updates in both the near and far future. Below we will cover a few highlights of how this new physical and occupational therapy service can help you with your recovery.

Aquatic Therapy
Our pool is located in Building II of the Corporate Medical Plaza in Overland Park, just across the parking lot from our clinic. If the evaluating therapist and physician decide aquatic therapy is appropriate for you as a patient, you will participate in 40 minutes of aquatic therapy in addition to your "land" therapy. Aquatic therapy has been shown to accelerate the traditional rehab process, including increasing strength, range of motion, and endurance. Common diagnoses benefiting from aquatic therapy include, but are not limited to, joint replacements, low back pain, muscle strains, and ACL reconstruction.
Manual Therapy
Our goal is to allow each patient to regain the maximum functional use of their hand. To achieve this goal, our experienced Hand Therapists incorporate individual care with manual therapy, exercises, custom static and dynamic splinting and home exercise programs.
