Dental Examination
After an assessment of the dental condition a consultation is routinely recommended to address each patients desires in a relaxed setting. These consultations are not performed in the dental treatment room but in specialized designated space with the appropriate technology. We will review the findings done on the comprehensive exam as well as discuss the different customized treatment options.
X-rays
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer screening that includes an examination of the soft tissues of the mouth, throat and surrounding head and neck areas. Dr. Lillis will be looking for any lumps, swelling, discolorations, ulcers, abscess, or any other abnormality that does not appear to be within normal limits of the head and neck.

Resin Composite
Dental amalgam, or silver filling material, is a mixture of mercury, and an alloy of silver, tin and copper. The release of mercury in silver fillings is so small that it is much less than what patients are exposed to in food, air and water. There are, however, other materials that can be used for restorations. These include gold, porcelain, and composite resins. Fluoride is a compound of the element fluorine, which is found universally throughout nature in water, soil, air and in most foods. Fluoride is absorbed easily into the tooth enamel, especially in children’s growing teeth. Once teeth are developed, fluoride makes the entire tooth structure more resistant to decay and promotes remineralization, which aids in repairing early decay before the damage is visible. Radiographs, or x-rays, help your dentist determine the presence or degree of periodontal disease, abscesses, and many abnormal growths such as cysts and tumors. They can help pinpoint the location of cavities and other signs of disease that may not be possible to detect through a visual examination. All health care providers are sensitive to patients’ concerns about exposure to radiation. Your dentist has been trained to prescribe radiographs when they are appropriate and to tailor the radiograph schedule to your individual needs. By using state-of-the-art technology, such as digital radiography, and by staying knowledgeable about recent advances, your dentist knows which techniques, procedures and X-ray films can minimize your exposure to radiation.
Veneers
Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic material which are bonded to the front of the teeth. This procedure can be an ideal choice for improving the appearance of the front teeth by masking discolorations, whitening teeth and/or reshaping a smile.
Crowns
Dental crowns are restorations that are placed over the existing tooth while retaining the the look, feel and function of the natural tooth. The restoration can restore one tooth or several teeth depending on each individual case.
Bridges
Dental Bridges are made combining a false tooth/teeth between two crowns, which cover the teeth on either side of a gap created by one or more missing teeth. Dental bridges are supported by natural teeth or dental implants much like crowns.

Based on the results of the Comprehensive Exam and Aesthetic Diagnosis, some patients may require a Full Mouth Dental Rehabilitation. Depending on the patient’s needs, this type of treatment may involve many teeth and could require restoring all of the teeth. Full-mouth dental rehabilitation is routinely performed by Dr. Lillis in progressive phases and usually requires multiple appointments. There are a variety of options for this level of treatment, and our team will discuss which restorative dentistry solution is best for you. The result will be a lifetime of not only a beautiful smile, but more importantly proper function.

Root Canal Treatment
A root canal is a procedure done to save the damaged or dead pulp in the root canal of the tooth by cleaning out the diseased pulp and reshaping the canal. The canal is filled with gutta percha, a rubberlike material, to prevent recontamination of the tooth. The tooth is then permanently sealed with possibly a post and/or a gold or porcelain crown. This enables patients to keep the original tooth.

“I have known and worked with Dr. Lillis for over 10 years and have found his interaction and care of patients to be exceptional. Pat takes the time to address the patient’s primary complaint and then systematically evaluate each patient in a step wise detailed process. He will cover options for the patient from doing no treatment to advanced treatment and reasonable alternatives in between. He has advanced prosthodontic training so his evaluation and treatment planning skills will address and cover options that many general dentists will not consider. Pat will often offer and complete a removable partial denture when this is the best option for the patient both physically and financially. He also gets many failed or problem cases referred that require elaborate diagnosis and treatment planning with eventual reconstructive procedures that help bring the patient back to normal.

Dental Implants
Dental implants are the most advanced therapy available to replace missing teeth today. The titanium implant is surgically placed under the gum tissue directly into the jawbone. It functions to replace the root of a missing tooth by anchoring itself firmly to the bone. Osseointegration is the term used to describe the microscopic connection of the bone to the implant. Replacement teeth are created by your dentist and fastened to the dental implants. The most significant advantage of having a dental implant is that it is self supporting, meaning no other teeth have to be prepared (drilled on) in order to replace a missing tooth. Dental implant restorations generally look, feel and act like natural teeth.

No. When carbamide peroxide, the active whitening agent, contacts water, hydrogen peroxide is released which whitens the teeth. Bleaching does not soften, demineralize or weaken the teeth.
