Sweet's Hotel

My husband and my 20 year old daughter and I went to Sweets for breakfast for the 1st time. It was a bit of a drive on a Sunday morning, but we were looking for a new place to try. First off, at the door was an ice cream bucket full of cigarette butts. Yuck! That should have been emptied before they opened that morning. When we were seated, I believe our waiter was actually the cook. He was dressed in shorts and a t-shirt and his clothes were very grimy and dirty. His fingernails were dirty. He was pleasant, however, and fairly attentive, although he was dressed to do dishes, not be on the floor waiting on customers. Looking around the restaurant, it's a neat building, However, the decor is hideous. Plastic silk flowers wrapped around light fixtures. The curtains at our table were filthy. ( We were seated by the window ) The view from the window was dumpy. Piles of leaves collected near the building. No wonder there were curtains covering the windows. It has great potential, but it is full of a hodge podge of garage sale plastic flowers. This is now where it gets interesting. Our cook/waiter was ON THE PHONE as he served our food!!!! As he leaned in to serve my daughter her plate...he said "F*** that!" almost into her ear!!! Obviously he wasn't talking to her, ( he was talking to the person on the phone) but I was appalled!! The food was pretty good. My food was a little cold or just barely warm, but it was good. So, Sweets, clean up your staff, tidy the views from the windows, wash your curtains, and lose your hideous decor. I will give it one more try, heck maybe a waitress called in sick and the dishwasher had to pitch in and wait tables, who knows. The food was good enough for me to be willing to give it another try.
