Air Abrasion Air abrasion is a technology that uses a stream of air and fine silica particles to remove small cavities and/or prepare teeth for sealants. Air abrasion may be used as a conservative alternative to traditional means of removing cavities in preparation for placement of a tooth colored filling. When used prior to placing dental sealants, air abrasion cleans the surface of the tooth and creates a more retentive surface for the sealant.

Veneers
Veneers Porcelain veneers are thin shells that are custom-fabricated in a dental laboratory and placed on the front surfaces of your teeth to improve their appearance. Veneers may be used to close gaps, to cover certain kinds of tooth stains, or to correct minor tooth shape defects.
Crowns
Crowns Dental crowns (or caps) are placed on damaged teeth to restore the approximate shape, color, and/or function of the original tooth. Reasons a tooth may require a crown include loss of tooth structure due to a large cavity, tooth fractures or chips, the presence of large fillings, and/or undesireable shape or color.
Bridges
When several adjacent teeth are missing, two or more implants may be placed in the space. A dental bridge is then fabricated that attaches to the implants and "bridges" the intervening space with porcelain false teeth. The implant-retained bridge is a "fixed" restoration, meaning that the patient does not remove the prosthesis for cleaning or maintenance.

Root Canal Therapy Deep cavities, deep cracks, tooth trauma, or other injuries to a tooth may cause discomfort and/or infection due to damage of the tooth pulp where the nerve fibers are housed. In some cases, the tooth can be saved by cleansing and filling of the inner canals of the tooth.

Deep Cleaning
Scaling & Root Planing "Deep Cleaning" Periodontitis, or "gum disease", is a degenerative disease of the gum tissues and supporting bone around the teeth that is caused by bacteria found in plaque and calculus deposits on the teeth.

Dentures
Complete Dentures We offer services for the fabrication of conventionial complete dentures in our office. If the denture was made in our office, we also offer denture adjustments and repair services for your denture including replacement of broken or missing denture teeth and repair of fractured denture bases.

Dental Implants
In our office, we place BioHorizons dental implants. These implants have specific design characteristics to allow for superior esthetic results and improved chewing and function over other dental implants.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Subsequently, Dr. Bryan Kitahara completed a General Practice Residency in dentistry at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Through this program, he acquired additional training in dental implant restorations, oral surgery, and restorative dentistry. He also completed an externship at York Hospital in general dentistry and an oral surgery externship at Washington Hospital Center.
Tooth Extractions
Extractions Our office is equipped to handle routine dental extractions. Teeth may need to be extracted (or removed) for various reasons. If a tooth is severely decayed, cracked, or malformed, extraction may be the treatment of choice if it cannot be restored by other dental treatments.

Dr. David Kitahara also spent six years as an associate dentist in a pediatric (children’s) dental office, received additional training and certification in Orthodontics for general practitioners in 1985, and received Biolase Laser training and certification in 2005. "Invisible Braces" What are invisible braces? The technical term for this is clear aligner therapy. Clear aligners are thin, clear plastic trays that are custom-fabricated to fit over your upper and lower teeth.

Teeth Whitening
An evaluation of your teeth and the diagnosis of the cause of your staining will be performed prior to treatment to determine whether you will benefit from bleaching procedures, as whitening procedures may not be right for everyone.
