Imperial Palms Apartments

My grandmother was living at Imperial Palms. She lived there for an entire year on her own. Toward the very end of the year, we discovered she had Alzheimer's. We were researching Assisted Living Facilities toward the end of her lease, at this time they had my grandmother sign a new lease. Not only did they allow her to sign a lease with Alzheimer's (we don't know what, if anything, they explained to her) but they also charged her another pet fee when resigning her lease(she already paid one). She was only there about a month or less into her new lease. We had to go down there and explain to them that she signed this lease yet had Alzheimer's and did not realize what she was doing. Their response- "she lived there a year on her own..." insuating I assume that there is no progression of Alzheimer's. If she didn't have it when she moved in, I guess she is never allowed to have it? Another time we begged them saying "she has no other income, if they keep the $730 a month, she can't afford to live in an Assisted Living Facility." Their response- a blank stare. Now she has passed away today and they want us to pay the rest of the 10 months on her lease regardless that she has nothing (no estate, no money) and has died from Pancreatic Cancer. These people are terrible and think of you as nothing but a buck. I don't trust them.

I have lived here for 5 years and have really enjoyed it. A lot of services included with the rent.
