Summary:

-Gave several false diagnosis. -Could not fix my problem even after attempting several expensive things. -Did not complete all of the fixes they said they did. -Damaged other things while attempting to diagnose and fix the problem. -Applied patchwork fixes that did not hold up, & created more damage. -Just as expensive as (or more so than) certified GM mechanics at my usual garage.



Testimony:

When they tried to diagnose my engine light they had me approve fix after fix. After dropping a lot of cash & not getting any results, I had to cut my losses & walk away without getting my problem fixed.



When I took it in to my dealership service department I had to pay for some of the same repairs because, upon closer inspection, they had not made the repairs they told me they had & some repairs had to be redone correctly.



YCARS was not any cheaper than the GM technicians at my usual place, which was by far the least expensive & quickest route in the long run—lesson learned.

I would just like to say we have been going to them since they were Muffler Man and think they are great. Mike has always done a great job for us. I feel they are honest and as for mistakes we all make them. I can't complain. Thanks guys.

They have twice now misdiagnosed my car. This time they said head gasket, quoted $1800. I have taken it to 2 different mechanics and both said head gasket is fine, intake gasket, $500. I would have been out $1300 if I had let them do the work. Both other mechanics did pressure tests and dye test and head gasket tested good. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I am a 70 yr. old senior here in Lapeer, I have been taking my cars to MIKE for 7 years he has always diagnosed the problems correctly and repaired them at a very reasonable price. I have mechanical knowledge but not the tools. I really feel I have to tell the world, MIKE is the most HONEST mechanic I have ever know. You know I have been getting my car repaired with this shop for over 8 years now. I have tried several other shops in Lapeer and this one is far the best. They just recently moved into a larger and cleaner location which make it really great. You know of all my experiences of other car repair shops there are mistakes, or 'mis-diagnosed' repairs. We are all human and will on occasion make a mistake. However what makes this place 5 stars is that if there is a mistake, they will make sure it is right and you are a happy customer leaving. They have excellent customer service, knowledgable techs, and are very trustworthy - just a 5 star business! I have never had any issues with this Repair Shop. They know what they are doing and will always keep me happy and many other car owners in Lapeer. Thank you Lapeer Cars!

If you want crappy unreliable service this is the place to go.

Lets see... I went for an oil change and to get my exhaust fixed, originally they did neither and charges me for it. When we went out after we paid we turned on the car and it sounded just as bad. Why because they did not check the job thoroughly. So we had to wait longer to get that done. Then after the exhaust was fixed my husband looked to check the oil, which they never did. So we had to go back... last but not least we also took in another vehicle to get brake lines fixed. Mike their head mechanic worked on that also and left the brake line hanging and also left vice grips hanging from the car... when we went back to get that fixed he laughed it off. To bad its not funny.

The place to go for any auto issue. Mike is as honest as the day is long and really knows his stuff. The knowledge and expertise found here is like a breath of fresh air. Very fair prices for excellent work done in a timely manner.
