        Founded in 1964 and located in Lansing, Mich., the Boys & Girls Club of Lansing is a nonprofit organization that serves more than 2,000 girls annually. Its facility includes a gymnasium, computer laboratory, and arts and crafts rooms. The organization provides programs in the areas of education, career, sports, fitness and art. It additionally offers programs related to character and leadership skill development. The organization provides the SMART Moves program, which enables children to make decisions on topics related to drugs, alcohol, tobacco and health. Its recreational program includes a variety of activities, such as basketball, soccer, dodgeball and flag football. Its educational program includes homework assistance, tutoring and mentoring services. The Boys & Girls Club of Lansing is a part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, which is a national network of more than 3,500 neighborhood-based facilities.
