Unique Hair Salon in Lanham. A stylist by the name of Mona just assaulted me. I was a walk in but there weren't many ppl and the girl did my hair two weeks ago just a blowout. This time I was getting a weave and sitting there for three hours. Long story short, I ended up telling the girl I had to go, she was like "I just got done I can take u right now." I was hesitant bc weaves take long but she's really good which is why I even waited. So I said "I been waiting 3 hours I don't know". As I'm sitting there contemplating she says "so you staying or going slim?" I looked at her like she was a ghost and said "oh definitely not now" and she said "ok that's fine I ain't tripping off your money" and I said "ok I ain't tripping off you doing my hair either, there's a million stylists" and she leaned back so far in an attempt to punch me, only to stop with her fist nearly at my face, and step back. But she did raise her fist to which abt 5 ppl jumped in immediately. She called me all types of "high yellow bitches" and got all bent outta shape for nothing. I was so angry it brought me to tears bc I felt I was being targeted. I was coming off of work hadn't even changed my clothes. I will never go there again, I'm filing a report, calling the salon owner, and I am spreading the word to NOT go to #UniqueHairStyles salon or be styled by #Mona. She is a hood rat that talks like she smokes two packs of Newport's daily after eating a fried bologna sandwich... Very unprofessional and ghetto. I hate to use racial slurs but as a Black woman myself, I can attest to the fact that we are most often our own worst enemies. We try to patron our own, minority-owned businesses, only to be treated like this. Then they wonder why the pigs are scared and just decide to shoot. I wish I could rate this in the negative. That was only my second time there, I actually came back after my first visit. Still a new client though, Mona treated me like a person off the street, ready to scrap, calling me slim and what not. I was so shocked I just couldnt stop crying bc I am so tired of feeling like I don't belong or being hated on for being light skin. But I'll go back to the Dominicans, they may not like me, at least they don't try to fight you there for being dissatisfied. Do NOT go to this business.
