Cryotherapy

Ms. Chung is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She was trained at the University of California, Irvine. Prior to nursing, she was a yoga instructor in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her passion for a healthy lifestyle and helping others guided her career in nursing. Ms. Chung worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Family Medicine and as a Certified Registered Nurse in the operating room. Her ambition was to eventually specialize in dermatology, which led her to join OC Skin Institute. Cancer Care
We offer our patients the Xoft Radiation Brachytherapy treatment for cancer care. Using high dose, low energy radiation, the disease is targeted without jeopardizing healthy tissue surrounding it. It is FDA approved to treat cancer anywhere on the body. It is most effective in delivering an exact dose of radiation directly to the treatment or target area.

Ultrasound
At OC Skin Institute, we are pleased to offer our patients an FDA approved treatment called Ultherapy or Ulthera. It is an ultrasound treatment that is used to lift and tighten skin in a non-invasive way. This means no surgery is involved which also means there is no need for downtime or recovery.

Mr. De La Cruz graduated from California State University of Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science-Health Science Option in Radiation Therapy. As a student, he completed his radiation therapy internships at University of California Irvine Medical Center, UCLA Reagan Medical Center, Long Beach Memorial, and Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital.
Radiation Oncology
He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Hsu also received MPH (Master of Public Health) degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. After completing his residency, he practiced at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, CA. He then moved to Omaha, NE to help build and develop a brand new cancer center there and practiced as the head of radiation oncology.

Cyst Removal
Although a block in the lining of a hair follicle does not sound like it can present any noticeable compli-cations that will be visibly present on the skin, it can actually lead to the formation of a cyst. This type of skin condition appears as a small lump beneath the surface of the skin. The lump is the result of the presence of a small sac that can become filled with solid materials from the body, air, or fluids. As more material accumulates, the area begins to swell which often leads to discomfort and discoloration. The material that accumulates can also potentially leak out on to the skin's surface. On occasion, a cyst can become infected or grow to the point that it resembles a boil. When a cyst reaches this level of seri-ousness, it is wise to seek out a consultation with an experienced dermatologist in order to determine whether or not it should be excised.
Mohs Surgery
Detecting and treating skin cancer is one of the most important jobs our medical dermatologists can provide to patients throughout Orange County. While we provide the community with many sun safety tips, and procedures to keep their skin healthy, sometimes we still see patients coming in with potentially cancerous, or precancerous moles. Despite many claims to the contrary, virtually all acne can be treated, and the board certified dermatologists of OC Skin Institute are experts in treating patients of all ages in the Santa Ana and Orange County areas. Depending on your skin’s level of dryness, we may prescribe special cleansers along with creams, lotions, foams or gels with strong levels of salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Psoriasis
The Pharos Laser is exceptional in treating skin plaques, psoriasis, vitiligo and hand eczema. Using concentrated light on active lesions, the Pharos laser targets specific areas of the skin at 308 nm, without exposing the rest of the body to excessive heat or wavelengths. It is an anti-inflammatory agent combating psoriasis cells.
