Jeffrey Mitchell, MSPT, is a licensed physical therapist and board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS). He also holds a specialty manual therapy certification as a Certified Mulligan Practitioner (CMP). Mr. Mitchell's expertise includes orthopedic rehabilitation and treating sports injuries and conditions, including pre/postoperative shoulder and knee rehabilitation. He applies a kinetic chain approach to functional rehabilitation and his approach to care emphasizes fitness and conditioning and manual therapy techniques aimed at providing immediate pain relief and increased mobility.Mr. Mitchell is the lead physical therapist for outpatient services. Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, he practiced nine years at the Lexington Clinic Sports Medicine Center where he treated professional and collegiate athletes. Mr. Mitchell is also an American Physical Therapy Associated (APTA) credentialed clinical instructor and has taught numerous physical therapists, physicians, and other health care professionals as a lab instructor at the Lexington Clinic Shoulder Symposium. He obtained a master's degree in physical therapy from University of Kentucky Lexington.Outside of work, Mr. Mitchell enjoys playing sports, running, working out. He has been skydiving, white water rafting and bungee jumping in the Nile. Mr. Mitchell is also passionate about doing mission work.
