Elizabeth knew that she wanted to be a nurse practitioner after she witnessed nurses caring for a family member following a tragedy. She fell in love with the pediatric patient population while working and training in the gastroenterology and hepatology department at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Although she admits that caring for pediatric patients can be challenging at time, Elizabeth enjoys partnering with a family to improve a child’s health. She sees patients, from newborns to teenagers, with a variety of diseases and has a special interest in pediatric liver disease. Elizabeth has a lot of energy and likes to spend her free time with family and friends enjoying the outdoors, hiking, gardening and being on water. The highlight of Elizabeth’s summer is when she volunteers as a nurse at Camp Sunshine, a camp for children and adults with special needs.Caring for the pediatric population is an honor and a privilege. My approach is to evaluate the patient as a whole as I know that there are many areas of one's life that can impact a state of health and well-being. I find it rewarding to work with the family to develop a plan of care and partner together to improve the health of my patients.
