I can’t say enough good things about Brownstone Pest Control. The owner, George, is the not only the nicest man, but also a true professional with over 25 years of experience in the business. He helped me get rid of ants in the Spring and mice this Fall which proved to be a tricky situation. He really goes above and beyond for his customers and is prompt to respond and arrives when he says he will. If you have any pest control needs I would not look anywhere else!

Overall

These guys are great, good price excellent guarantee. He was running late and called me to let me know he was about 20mins late. I live in Hoboken and even the parking could take 20mins to find so that's OK. Impressed the he even called. Then he found a hole behind the stove next to the gas line, where he said the mice might be coming in from. Funny no other exterminator had seen it, or if they did never remarked on it. A few days latter they returned to repair it. Also because I agreed to have it fixed they extended the guarantee. not bad guys

Spiders
Next, check the ceiling for spider webs or live spiders. If you see spiders, that’s a clear sign of bugs. These long-legged friends don’t hang around unless they have some bugs to munch on.

Next, if there’s a kitchen window, check the window sill for crevices. Crevices coupled with no central air means that people most likely leave the windows open when it rains and water then falls into those crevices. That’s a problem for a lot of reasons, but especially for carpenter ants. Do you see any signs of ants on or near the windowsill? This could be the ant bodies themselves or just the wings that have fallen off. While you’re at it, check the windowsill for spider mites or tiny red mites. Inspect every windowsill in the apartment this way.
Gnats
OK, push the stove back in against the wall. Now check under the kitchen sink. You’re looking for a water leak; is the cabinet floor wet? Is it water stained? Prolonged water leakage may attract carpenter ants, gnats, centipedes and other critters. Here you can expect a musty smell every time you open the cabinet door. Check around the hot and cold water line pipes and the drain line (white plastic PVC pipe) — are there holes around these pipes? That’s a potential problem.
