Soccerzone Operations

In planning my son's birthday this year I had asked how much extra it would be per child over the allowed amount. It took this person 3 weeks to get back to me, when I then called and asked again, and I was told that they were getting a response from the main office or something like that. I got a call back the next day, and scheduled a date/time. I was assured that this time would work out with them. I had to get the invitations out fast to give his friends at least a weeks notice.



The day before his party is planned I got a call saying that they had a conflict, there was a coach that was to be scheduled on our field at a certain time. My package they assured me would have 55 minutes on the field and 45 in the party room. Now I would get 30 minutes, so she suggested having it start 15-25 minutes earlier. The downfall is I would have to call all the people who RSVP'd to let them know it was starting earlier.



We arrive that next day at the time we agreed to, and the person who helped me looked stressed...apologized but said that the coach we were to have on the field with the kids had to referree on the other field because someone didn't show up. I was told that they called another coach in and that person would be there in about 10 minutes...then that person did her best to occupy the 20 kiddos on the field but with 8 year olds they all had an emotional time agreeing on what to play. My child was so set up on playing flag football (we did this same thing a few years back) and she told him she didn't know how to play it, that soccer and dodgeball would have to do. I told my son to respect that, but not get angry because it wouldn't do good. The coach never showed up, but a mother did hear a co-worker go up to this person to let them know that person arrived to coach, where should he go? This person trying to help us out said 'don't worry I got it here, I can handle it'. I didn't know this until afterwards...but the boys and girls were all excited to have a referee looking coach. I tried to make the best of it. Throughout the 55 minutes I had 4 crying episodes, because it was unfair teams, or someone wouldn't kick them the ball (which is not this 'coaches' fault but it wasn't organized which I think may have contributed to their emotions). I felt bad for each of them, and just wanted them to have a good time.



I have told so many people how this place is the best to have a birthday party, cause they provide a room, drinks, pizza, etc. and it isn't at your own house, so it is not as stressful. After this last party, I don't think I can promote them anymore. My husband said it was unprofessional that they didn't call back timely with rate/dates available, and were not organized. I was originally told this time slot would work out no problem.
