Love this place they have come a long way since I first moved here over 10 years ago. The animals seem to better taken care of than some of the other local pounds. Wish I had more time I'd volunteer.

I volunteer at this animal shelter and it may smell bad but they do their best to make it smell better it smells like any other animal shelter there is. The animals are so well cared for but most of the time they don't have time because of the costumers and about two people really work there. You will not know the place as well as I do unless you work or volunteer there.

I went to the shelter in early June and we ended up adopting a sweet mixed pup. The people were patient with my indecision (it was 4:30 on a Friday and I am sure they were ready to go home). She was healthy and well cared for. You can tell they played with her because every time she saw a worker her tail wagged. The place had a smell, like most shelters I have visited. I think it was the 'stuff' they use to try to keep it clean. We brought 'Izzy' home, bathed her to wash off the shelter smell, renamed her and she has adapted to our household and gets along great with her 70 pound 'sister'. I drove over an hour to get this pup after seeing her picture on line and I would check there again. Izzy's mom
