        The Itta Bena Center is one of the head start program locations of Mississippi Action for Progress, which offers community-based child development and family services the preschool children of low-income families. The parent organization s family literacy program plans, develops, implements and maintains a coordinated system of continuous improvement for meeting and supporting literacy needs. It provides English as a Second Language and adult basic education programs. Mississippi Action for Progress also offers GED training programs and basic computer literacy workshops. The parent organization operates a clinic that provides immunization, health education, physical examination and nutritional status assessment solutions. The clinic operates according to federal and state laws and regulations.
