Payton Jay Well Drilling

I recently hired Mr. Payton and his crew to evaluate, and revive, if possible, an existing 1950's well at an Ellis Hollow home we own and rent. They extended the 6" casing above grade, added a pitless adaptor, new piping and other necessary materials. They are competent, hard working, responsive. I did not ask for an estimate going in since it wasn't clear what they'd get into, but in the end the bill was more than fair. The invoice had a clear and detailed materials breakdown. I would recommend them with no reservations. If I'd had a question about billing, I feel confident Jay would have provided a reasonable explanation. Incidentally, they pound wells the old fashioned way .... the reason I revived the old well is because the expensive new well we had drilled nearby (200 ft deep ) by others, has produced nothing but silty water for two years, necessitating a $125 per month flocculation system that is now going away. Wish I'd called Jay Payton instead of drilling. Tom C.

I had Payton fix a well pump. They did a fair job with the work but charged me $800 for a $260 pump and added a mystery MISS category for $90.54 and also itemized costs down to $0.41. I cannot imagine what the other charges were for. I would never hire them again.

The final cost was well above the estimate and no additional work was required. I suggest avoiding this company for well work.
