I would like to share my exper...

I would like to share my experience in getting to Grace (Yiqun) Fu Dykstra, who claims to be a licensed naturopathic doctor specializing in immunology.

My mother was recently diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome, an autoimmune disease. So far there is no cure for any autoimmune disease. Out of desperation, I followed the advice of Grace (Yiqun) Fu Dykstra, a Chinese herb doctor, who recommended 4life Transfer Factor, a product that she claims is good for cancer patients, asthma patients, and those with immune diseases. I purchased one bottle for my mother at a cost of around fifty US dollars plus shipping and handling. Grace (Yiqun) Fu Dykstra stated that "4Life TF Plus with 4Life Riavida is Natural Enemy of Cancer." Being a registered nurse and out of curiosity, I went online to search for information regarding 4life Transfer Factor. According to Grace (Yiqun) Fu Dykstra, this nutritional supplement works for all kind of diseases. These claims sounded too good to be true, however, and here is what I discovered online:

(1) According to research done by Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Transfer Factor was found to be ineffective for all kind of cancers, immune diseases, and asthma.

(2) The Federal Drug Administration issued a warning to 4life Research Company for marketing their products as a means of preventing, diagnosing, and mitigating, treating or curing disease.

(3) Contamination of transfer factors isolated from cattle infected with bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE, or "mad cow disease") might cause patients to contract the disease.

When Grace (Yiqun) Fu Dykstra called me about a month after my purchase to ask me how I felt about her 4life products, I told her about the research paper I had found and about my concerns regarding the FDA warning and mad cow disease. She denied the FDA warning and the possibility of 4life causing mad cow disease. She called me back later that same night and to defend her 4life products. I asked her what transfer factor is and to explain to me how it works in treating cancers, asthma and immune diseases. Grace (Yiqun) Fu Dykstra had no clue about what transfer factor is, how it works and its role in the human immune system. She also does not understand the basic pathology of how cancer and asthma relate with immune system, and yet she claims to specialize in immunology. When she was not able to answer my questions, she hung up the phone on me.

Grace (Yiqun) Fu Dykstra e-mailed me the next day and said that it was my choice to purchase 4Life product, and that she is only a distributor, not a scientist. She had forgotten that if she had not come to my house claiming to be a licensed acupuncturist, naturopathic doctor, nutritional specialist and immune specialist, I would not have purchased 4Life products from her. It should be noted that she receives a commission from the sale of 4Life products.

Researching Yiqun Fu Dykstra's claims of being a "licensed acupuncturist, naturopathic doctor, and nutritional specialist," here is what I have found out about her:

(1) Yiqun Fu Dykstra was previously licensed as an acupuncturist by the Acupuncture Board of California. Her scope of practice should be limited to acupuncture and Chinese herbs only. However, her license is expired as of July 2011.

(2) Yiqun Fu Dykstra is not licensed as a naturopathic doctor.

(3) Yiqun Fu Dykstra is not registered or certified as a nutritional specialist or dietitian.

(4) Yiqun Fu Dykstra is not certified as an immunologist.

Yiqun Fu Dykstra has been falsely advertising her credentials in order to sell 4Life products. She already violates the regulation of California consumer affairs.
