Novak Urgent Care

This is a great Urgent care. Doctor Novak is very good and took good care of me. The staff is really caring. I waited 1 hour, but I didn't have an appointment, its better than waiting 8 hours at a hospital. I had a good experience at this urgent care. I highly recommend that place.

I'm reading all these negative reviews about Dr. Novak and all of them have to do with waiting to be seen. I can't say the same, because I didn't go to the urgent care part, Doctor Novak did my Lipo Sculpting and fat transfer on my butt and I absolutely love it! I never had to wait and neither did my cousin. The only thing I can say is, that if you are going to the urgent care, you will have to wait. I crack up, because my own dermatologist makes me wait 2 hours. I don't know of any doctor that doesn't make you wait. All I know is that my experience at NUC plastics with Doctor Novak was excellent!

Waited for a hour and there were only two people ahead of me. Then waited another 2 hours and saw people come and go that came 45min to a hour after me. Place is horrible.

I went there for the first time about a month ago. The first thing I noticed was the front office people seemed either stressed, overworked or under staffed. Dr Novak wasn't there, but he had someone covering for him. The doctor who was covering for him was very kind, gentle and a sweet man. I am new to the area and I needed a referral to a chronic pain management doctor. They told me I had to wait four days and to call back and they would give me one. I was given a script and dropped it off at the local Walmart. Well, the insurance company would not fill it until the (Martha) nurse at the doctors office filled out certain paperwork to prove I had tried other prescriptions before they would allow that one to be filled. Over a week went by and the paperwork was yet to be filled out and the pharmacy had faxed them twice and also tried to called them. So I decided that I would call them. It took a few times before I got a hold of Martha because I was either ignored or was hung up on. She proceeded to tell me that she refused to fill out the paperwork because she was the only nurse there and that my prescription needed to be changed because she didn't have the time to do it. So in my eyes, she decided she was going to try to play doctor. I explained to her that they had my medical records and that I had tried everything else and I could not take any pills. Which was already explained to her when I was there the first time. So I called the insurance company and I told them what happened and they told me that it was going to be taken care of. Needless to say it never got taken care of. Now I have to go down there today physically to try and get a script refill because the pharmacy has been trying to get the script filled again and they're just not doing their job. I'm going to meet Dr Novak today and I am skeptical but I'm going to try to communicate with him about the efficiency of his office. Wish me luck, I will come back and write another review and let you know what happens and how his demeanor was.

Dr. Steve Novak, is honest straightforward not to put up with any BS type Dr. He is professional and awesome. The front office is amazing as well. I highly recommend this Doctor. Only bad is going Tuesdays & Thursdays not good because he does surgeries and long office wait time. Otherwise, great Dr., staff and business.

I've been a Nurse Manager for over 20 years, just moved here, no insurance, I pay cash until my Ca license is complete, referred to Dr Novak, I LOVE him! he is competent, PROFESSIONAL and kind, I have NEVER witnessed him cursing at people, I HIGHLY doubt he ever did! Love the staff, also very professional and pleasant!!! RE: Local RN that complained about such POOR care! of your Husbands "2nd degree skin tear" NEVER KNEW SKIN TEARS we rated in degree's! That's BURNS DEAR! and if your an RN how could you LET him follow such ILL advise if that's what was givin, you should have been cleaning his dressing! also, I noticed you complain about a lot of Docs on here, seems NONE of them know as much as YOU! even your Botox injections YOU SAY YOU KNEW WHERE WRONG! Good god, just go take your MCATS and practice yourself your sooo good! lololol

I have also witnessed first hand Dr. Novak degrading, cussing, and yelling at his employees. They all put their heads down like they were scared to lose their jobs and acted like they were used to verbal abuse from him. I was just a patient waiting and I could not believe what was happening right in front of me in the back rooms. This seems to be a chronic condition according to these reviews. They are all similar which is amazing and proves what really goes on there. Never been back, there should be an investigation into this quack. So surprised he is allowed to treat people, especially children. All reviews are right on the mark.

This "DR." F******************************kn Sucks don't ever go he is extremely rude and doesn't care about what you have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will never go there again.

I went to the Urgent Care before Christmas 2010 due to my primary doctor being out for the holiday. Big mistake. I waited over 3 1/2 hours to be seen. Dr. Novak would only take groups of people back at one time rather than filling the rooms when they became available which would have been faster. While waiting, a child threw up on the floor and chair and the staff just watched as the parents had to clean it up. One would have thought the staff would have come out to disinfect the area but nope, just watched the parents. Seriously!!



Once we got back, the patients doors were all left open and you could hear everyone's conversation/symptoms which I thought was a privacy concern. I was 4th in line to see the dr (again with the doors open, you knew when you were next), Dr Novak came in very cranky, almost annoyed that you were there, like an inconvenience. He asked what was wrong and when I started to tell him, his personal cell phone rang, and he answered it without saying excuse me or removing himself from the room. The person on the other line was a family member complaining of roof challenges (it was raining outside). He then proceeded to cuss in the room and in front of me. He finally stepped right outside the door to finish the call - mind you continued to cuss and be very angry. He then came back in and said "Not only do I have to be a doctor today but I also have to be a G-d Damn roofer too." I was shocked. He didn't apologize for his behavior at all. He prescribed me medicine to help with my ailment. I let him know I was breastfeeding and asked if the medicine he was giving me was safe. He said HE DIDN'T CARE that I was breastfeeding he said- "what's the big deal - only a little should transfer - so what if she gets a little diarrhea" I told him that I refused to take the medicine if it wasn't safe. He didn't care. He handed me the prescription and walked out.



I was so appalled that Dr Novak didn't care about the safety of a child, his unprofessional, vulgar, disrespectful manner with the repetitive cussing in front of me, lack of privacy in the office, uncleanliness of the office, and the staff just looked like they avoided the dr at all cost. to top it all off, I also received a bill charging me for my co-pay when I already paid it! I hope my review will have people stay very far away from Dr Novak's practice.
