Cataracts
Nearly all cataracts take a long time to develop and are thus more common as we age. Cataracts cause cloudy spots in a part of the eye called the lens, which is responsible for gathering and focusing light, reflecting it to the back of the eye onto the retina where the brain receives the signal and enables you to see. A minor surgical procedure is required to replace the cloudy lens of the eye with an implant.
Cataract Surgery
The knowledgeable optometrists at 20/20 Eye Care can refer patients requiring cataract surgery to an appropriate, reputable ophthalmologist for the procedure. Everyone’s eyes are different and there are many factors we consider when choosing the best surgeon for each patient. We also provide pre- and post-op care for our patients requiring cataract surgery.
Eye Exam
Did we mention that we’re kid-friendly? We welcome pediatric patients from 6 months old and up and recommend a comprehensive eye exam for all children by the age of 9 months – and thanks to the InfantSEE® public health program, these assessments are free for children under 1 year old.
