FISH KEEPERS

My husband and I love coming here. The owners are extremely nice and helpful. Thanks to them we learned how to beautifully decorate our 150 gallon saltwater tank. We will always use this store for all of our fish needs.

I've not only enjoyed saltwater fish for over 30yrs I actually worked in an aquarium store as a young adult. I think Kat is fantastic, knowledgeable, and professional. Wouldn't go anywhere else!

I stoped in Fish Keepers about a year ago and got a salt water tank from Kathy . they have helped me learn abuot salt water fish and how to take care of my tank , I have had fish die and they have helped with replacing them .. this is a good family owed store and very helpful staff .. I recomend Fish Keepers to all my friends ...

I actually felt the same way as the other reviewers here. In fact i liked the store so much i had inquired about a job and she eventually hired me. Before i started working there i had purchased a salt water, 50 gal, half circle used aquarium from Cathy. It was, and is, still a very nice tank (thanks to paradise pets down the road). I started with a couple star fish after about two weeks of taking it home. I had no problem for some time. At a later date she had fired her daughter who was working there and then immediately hired me, and another guy. (the "other guy" will be referred to as John Doe) I had experience with fresh water tanks, but no salt water. All was well until she started accusing my male coworker of stealing from the store. She asked me what i thought while we were reviewing the video, with no clear signs of theft, i disagreed with her on the matter. That week ( the day- 6-17-13) I purchased a flame angel fish at a very low price($40.00). A day and a half later i confronted her with the fact that my fish was dying from cyanide poisoning. She agreed that this was what the fish had, and agreed to replace it at no additional cost. I finished out the couple days left in the week. Upon retuning to work the following Monday, She called the cops on me and [john doe] and accused us, along with all of my family, and all the CUSTOMERS we had served, of stealing from the store. She proceeded to narrate her surveillance videos, witch have no audio, and tried to say we were all thieves, and conspiring to steal. There was no evidence on her video surveillance of anyone stealing or they would have taken us to jail then. At which time she fired us with out paying me for that Monday, or [john Doe] for the whole week before. Needless to say she never held to her word of replacing the flame angel, nor paid me for my time. I tried to contact her several times regarding the matter and received no messages or calls back from her. She had my address and could have very well sent my pay and the $ for the fish to me, but chose not to. It took some time to open my eyes to the kind of people that run this place, and a lot of extra $. I am leaving this review so others know - if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. And listen- pet store owners know when they are buying fish form companies that use illegal fishing tactics because the price they pay is very low. Then they pass the "savings " on to you. Go ahead and read about cyanide poisoning. Fish and fish tanks are my passion and it was terrible to have to watch my fish die this way. It is a slow painful death, that was by far worse than her not paying up.

When I first began my endeavor into the world of saltwater overwhelmed is a grave understatement of how I felt. I'd had some experience with freshwater and after landing an excellent deal on a 60gal, decided I wanted to spread my wings a bit. I had no idea what I was doing, only that I wanted to take my time and not rush through anything. I had no idea what a sump even was! Never mind all the other new details I was having to research. I decided I needed to ask someone that knew what they were doing, a friend happened to spy this store on 1960 and pointed me in their direction. The owners are both very knowledgeable, patient, and more than willing to explain the details to us newbies. They not only helped me understand what I needed to have in order to put together a successful tank, but they have gone above and beyond. They were willing to sell me their used sump, which combined with some live rock and sand has kick-started my tank's cycling process. They've also been extremely helpful with picking out my fish. They've steered me clear of the more aggressive ones since my tank is mostly docile fish. It's amazing to me that they can remember what fish I've bought, they ask me how they're doing every time I go in which I really appreciate! Every fish I have brought home has been very healthy, active, and happy. They eat well and are very cool to watch.



This store is there to help their clientele, they're not just out to make a buck. They really want to see their customers succeed. They've made customers for life out of both my mom and I. We'll always turn to Fish Keepers when we have questions or need anything!

Kathe is awesome! She saved us hundreds on our tank and has helped us with the setup. Got us up and running in no time. The rest of the staff is really nice too and helped us choose which fish were right for our tank. I did not want to wait for them to be open but I am glad I did (their hours are a little strange).
