Was taken to Memorial Herman with a ruptured artery in my nose. My hemoglobin had dropped to 3 and could not control the bleeding. Having no insurance I was told by the insurance lady that I shouldn't be there. Bad thing was I couldn't,t leave. Leaving after the artery was cauterized I came home and now after being told I was not good enough to be there I haven't left my house in 2 yrs. My nose is bleeding again and although I have insurance now I will bleed out rather than experience the humiliation.

They will file lawsuits if you fall behind on your payments. It will destroy you credit rating. The service was adequate but the accounting department has evil intents. Not a non-profit.

The radiology department is horrible....charged you for something they did not do.

Not recommended at all. I would never ever use them again for mammography or any other screening. I been going this hospital for the last 13 years for annual mammogram but after the experienced I had back in February this year...I am considering of going to another facility that has excellent service.

This place is a prison! Not because the accommodations are bad, but because they throw you in a room and won't let you leave. They don't care how the patient is feeling. You leave when THEY SAY you leave. My wife had our baby there and because she's awesome, she and baby were ready to go home the next day. We asked if we could go home and were told multiple times that the doctor would come by to see if we could be discharged. We waited for like 5 hours, then when went to the nurse's station to see what's up, nurse just said coldly. "Under no circumstances do people go home before 48 hours. WTF? So you keep us an extra night to check her blood pressure once, then Bill our insurance for an extra $700? The doctor finally came by and said the same thing. Sorry, you can't leave yet. We are patients, not prisoners. We should be able to go when we want, even if it is against the doctor's recommendation.

Terrible hospital! Hospital st...

Terrible hospital! Hospital staff including doctors are unattentative and not informative. Two doctors came in for a total of four minutes during my 24 hour stay. The doctor ordered medication for me which he thought I was taking and if I would of took could have made me sick. Questioned the nurse and she said your blood pressure is fine I dont know why he would give this to you! Had a question about theblood that was being taken and the attendant rolled his eyes at me! I could go on! Was absolutely the worst experience ever!

Went to SE Memorial because of proximity. Bathroom in waiting area was filthy with blood on the floor. Although staff was friendly and prompt the nurse repeatedly coughed and sneezed in my room. No one used hand sanitizer ,washed their hands or used gloves. Nurse left bloody materials from IV in room and kept adding to the dirty pile throughout my stay. I left after numerous tests with no diagnosis.

My husband had a stroke at age 62. Went to SE Memorial because I have a wonderful doctor and that is the only reason we went there. He was put on 24 hour stay. He went home the next day. After thousands of dollars worth of test never learned what caused the stroke. Had a room mate that coughed continually the entire time. He didn't get the medical attention it appeared he very much needed. Within 10 days we had to go back to SE Memorial due to my husband not being able to keep anything down and he became dehydrated. It was clear to a first year medical student. The ER doc insisted on running all the same test he just went through. I protested and was told if he could not do all these test them for us to leave and find care elsewhere. Of course, nothing came from the test. They put one bag of liquids down him. I had to leave for a while. Got a call from him that he was outside the ER in a wheel chair. They pushed him out and said "call your wife". Within another week he was dehydrated again. Went to Ben Taub. GREAT medical team. Can't say enough about them. Found the compassion and medical care that was needed. He stayed 4 days there and they sent him home with medicine that helped him keep food and liquids down which resulted in him getting better. One more things. The 4 days at Ben Taub cost was $7 thousand dollars less than 24 hour stay at SE Memorial. This is not the first time we received poor service and medical care. I have a grandson who could have died from an infection that SE Mem. said was allergies. Took him to his doctor the next morning and was told if we hadn't done that he would have died. No Thanx to SE Memorial. Stay away if you suffer something serious. Cuts, flu and such may be ok, but you will pay, pay, pay. I am thinking we will have to find a new doctor since that is the hospital he uses. And that is a shame for our doctor is GREAT! Too bad he doesn't have hospital privileges at a great hospital.

In Dec. 2011 my husband had 2 colon surgeries where he was gutted like a deer if someone does not know what colon surgery looks like it's horrible. Dr. Glen Garner at Southeast Memorial saved Jim's life! Also, my mother had stage 4 lung cancer at the same time and was in the room directly above my husband. My mother's cancer team was very good to her but during her radiation treatments a nurse flipped my 77 year old mother and hurt her leg so she would not go back for further treatments and died 3 months later. I was not happy with the nurses at Southeast Memorial Hospital some were caring and compassionate others could care less for the sick and dying.

Worst hospital ever

If I could give this hospital 0 stars I would. My family and I have been going to this hospital frequently because of the proximity to our house. Every single time we come here we have problems. A list of problems include:

1) ER front desk personnel yelling at my mother to not vomit on the floor while her lungs are filling with fluid (she ended up having a heart attack). Instead of calling the doctor like they are supposed to , they took their sweet time and my mom ended up having to be resuscitated.

2) Extremely rude nurses. Leaving my mother slumped over, which can affect breathing. Allowing the machines to continuously beep , and when you tell them, they huff and puff or play the blame game. Extremely rude and openly state racist remarks. But guess what, when the doctors arrive to do rounds they are suddenly perky and on top of things.

3) The doctors need a crash course in communicating. When my sister was in the hospital because of an Asthma attack, the doctor asked her if she does breathing treatments. My sister didn't know what she meant by that because she calls it the "nebulizer" (12 yr old). The doctor started laughing with nurse saying "how does she not know what that is if she is supposedly asthmatic ". Other doctors that have seen my mother in the hospital have been so caustic, rude, and insensitive. They are textbook doctors with no humility.

4) The administration sucks balls. What kind of an administrator comes to a family and asks them if they are burning something in the room? "Excuse me, are you burning something in here" "um, no" " well we just want to make sure because we smell smoke, and it's just for the patients safety because there's oxygen" "no there's nothing burning" "okay well we just wanted to double check for the patients safety" "there's nothing in here" " ok well if you are we would like to ask you to stop".... We have also had administrators lock the family room when were getting counseled and forced us to go into the waiting room.

5) Lastly, when my mother was dying, my older brother was rushing to the hospital with my younger sister. They ran to the hospital room rushing, a security guard grabbed my brothers shirt and said "no kids allowed", my brother just continued on holding my little sister because it might be the last time they see their mom.

There are a few really good doctors at this hospital, but you can also find the same ones at other hospitals ( I suggest clear lake regional) . Other than that, everything about this hospital is crap. Someone could be dying but they are lazy and just care about their paychecks. The whole hospital needs sensitivity training. Nobody here has a presence of mind.

Reason for going to the ER: My skin was very irritated (felt like it was on fire) from head to toe and my body was extremely tender to the touch. A rash was developing on my cheeks too.

My experience at Memorial Hermann Hospital (SE) was absolutely horrible from the beginning. I entered the emergency room and walked up to the Triage Desk and was scowled at by the lady at the window who seemed miserable working there. Regardless, I needed some medical attention and gave her the benefit of the doubt.

As soon as I was checked into a room, a nurse practitioner (not a doctor) came in, made me take a couple of deep breaths and told me that I didn't need any immediate medical attention and that I was dealing with normal side effects from a steroid I was taking for bronchitis. I wasn't given an IV or asked for any blood samples—nothing. She told me to continue taking the medication normally and it should clear up soon.

I left, went home, and took my medicine again—cough suppressant, antibiotic, and the steroid.

The next morning I woke up having a hard time breathing. My eyes were closed shut due to swelling, my lips looked like they were going to bust, my tongue was enlarged twice its size, and my neck started swelling not long after I left to another hospital (Clear Lake).

The doctor told me I had a severe allergic reaction to the antibiotic I was also taking, not the steroid. So now I have to take medication for my skin, swelling and body pain, new antibiotics, and something to counteract the damage from the previous antibiotic.

Due to the lack of improper medical attention at Memorial Hermann (SE) Emergency Room, my health and well-being was put on the line. At least now I know where NOT to go in time of an emergency.

for me hospital going down bc of DOCTORS

Review on southeast memorial doctors

Many of contracted doctors I have seen by REFERRAL at this hospital is very arrogant, insensitive and knowledgeable of others. I've been placed in this hospital MANY TIMES by my doctor and the consulting doctors choose to speculate, guess, and go according to their previous patients.

I'm a individual whom body may or may not function the way the next patient does yet they go according to their own scientific understanding of things and NO case can differ.

They have (without directly saying) called me a liar, and a pill popper. I've had one to call me fat infront of their staff members unknowingly; and that I need to back away from the table. This was said to me without asking me my dieting habits. I had one for most part call me a liar and tell me every time I come to hospital they (my doctor) request different doctor to see me for issues. Tho these issues has existed over twenty years. And all the records I have apparently doesn't exist.

If I go to a doctor and he prescribe something for me, do I not take it? After all they are the doctors!

Well I'm at my ends and I'm ready to speak out. The very doctor who tell me all this stuff also admit to not knowing my history nor have they read any files but try to insinuate either I have a drug or mind issue.

Well, I do have records, many records of which I bought to this very hospital myself to place in their records so Iwould not have any problems. I have been seen for elevated pressure and it can go down the minute they come in it goes back up because of their insulting, arrogant and dogmatic ways. Well I'm not sitting and crying anymore, exposure is what need to take place. I really feel sorry for my doctor, can you imagine waking up happy in your heading on your heading journey only to fine out your team doesn't have your back but is more like babble idiots, they even admit too not knowing who my doctor is, you know the one who contact you for consultation. This is so sad.

So here is one of my reviews, more to follow and with more followers.

More like a Prison!

The employees treat the patients like prisoners once they move you into the building! I was admitted to this hospital and it was a nightmare! First I was in the emergency for 12 hours, I was having a asthma attack the started doing all sorts of tests, 20 or so different nurses in that same shift came in and poked me, injected me with something over and over again! My body was tired so I I needed to go to the restroom and I was hungry and no one had been in there for about 2 hours! So I walked to the restroom and all hell broke lose , they sent this huge guy to find me and then he told me that I wasn't allowed to leave that room and I'm like wtf! So I grabbed my stuff and was about to leave when now 3 people circled me,i thought that was a little weird, what hospital does that? Anyways I stayed, and finally had a room for me so let the nightmare begin the day shift nurses would get mad if bothered them and every nurse would say something different! And I never knew who was the doctor there, because 6 different ones came in and talked to me after the last doctor said I was free to go the nurse on duty was obsessed with me she was refusing to release me even thou the doc cleared me and told me which pills i needed! The nurse started making excuses about her not knowing how to check me out because no one was down there at the patient info desk and that I wasn't leaving till the next day because I was being charged anyways for the whole day! I was like wtf are you kidding me she walked out as if I wasn't even talking to her! Then 10 mins later she comes back saying we need to transfer you to another room because we need this bed, I said no I'm leaving now she told me that I wasn't going to get any help because I was leaving on my will not her orders but the doctor gave the clearance not her so I left with nothing but a huge bill!!!! So if I were you if you can wait to see a outpatient doctor do that because Memorial Herman is a prison not a hospital!! I'll never step a foot there sorry for a long story but y'all need to know!

Southeast Memorial is the wors...

Southeast Memorial is the worst hospital I've ever experienced. The service sucks, the doctors do not give you any information and when they do, they act as if you have been through medical school and understand all the medical terms, My dad came in for a simply procedure that has now turned into a major surgery with many complications. Please, please do not come to this hospital for anything. My familyare consistantly praying that we make it through this one, I will never, ever come to Southeast Memorial Hospital. Its very sad here !!!!.

the hospital is know for patients dieing too easily. Was told dont go there unlless I was prepared to die.I am very much starting to belive them! I have seen nurse out in the ER hallways playing with their poodle their girlfriend brought in. while leaving my mother strapped to a board while all of the attendings played with the dog! Ive almost been given an emergency colonoscopy with bag if my surgeons partner hadnt interviened. I was put in CDiff room right after I fired my doctor. Bayshore and this hospital are the worst in Houston! Such a shame when the rest of the memorial hospitals Ive been to I recieved excellent care!I have beeen there several times and all but one time was horrifying! DONT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!

In response to the Horrible Ho...

In response to the Horrible Hospital review, I am so sorry for the pain the family went through due to a physicians lack of bedside manner. I work in a hospital and will tell you that your statement made to the physician could be considered a threat and most hospital have no tolerence policies in regards to personnel, patients and visitors. I would think your threat is what banned you from your brother's room. I know the frustration pushed you to the end but don't blame the hospital for banning you it would happen in most hospitals. You can definately blame them for the lack of care and service.

My father-in-law is currently there and I do not have anything bad to report at this time.

Don't trust them. Hospital bills more than it says it will.

When asked for the amount of copayment for the use of outpatient surgery center (Memorial Southwest) an amount was given as the patient copayment on June 30th with services rendered on July 1st. The hospital then presented Blue Cross and me charges 40% in excess of the stated amount. the explanation was that a system-wide price increase went into effect on the day of service.

Either the overcharge was intentional fraud or the hospital was willfully negligent in not using "system-wide price increases" in giving the hospital charges. Such charges should have been perfectly evident a day in advance of the day of service.

Actually the copayment billed exceeded by nearly 100% a similar charge for outpatient services at St. Lukes.
