Bridges
Dental Implants are an exciting and effective way to replace missing teeth. One implant can be used to restore a single lost or congenitally missing tooth, or several implants can be used to help with any combination of fixed bridges and removable or fixed dentures. Dental Implants are a great investment, and the results are the closest thing dentistry has to giving you back your natural teeth. In order to provide patients with strong implants, sometimes it is necessary to perform pre-implant surgeries to maximize bone support. These include socket preservation, bone regeneration, and sinus augmentation.

Root Canal Treatment
Dental Implants are an exciting and effective way to replace missing teeth. One dental implant can be used to restore a single lost or congenitally missing tooth, or several implants can be used to help with any combination of fixed bridges and removable or fixed dentures. Dental implants are the most advanced tooth replacement system available today, and their placement prevents bone and gum tissue loss that often takes place after tooth loss. This bone and tissue loss can give a “sunken-in” look (or older appearance). Placing an implant can also preserve the adjacent teeth by removing the need to cut the adjacent teeth down for a bridge or crown placement. Plus, dental implants will never develop decay or need a root canal. Although implants take time, the results are the closest thing dentistry has to giving patients back their natural teeth. The appearance and function of implants has the ability to improve self-confidence and overall quality of life.

Gingivectomy and Gingivoplasty
The excessive display of gums when smiling results in what is often referred to as a “gummy smile”. This unsightly appearance can be corrected by altering the level of the gum line with an esthetic crown lengthening procedure or a gingivectomy. This technique is also utilized to eliminate uneven gum levels on adjacent teeth.
Periodontal Surgery
IV Conscious Sedation is used to help patients feel more comfortable during periodontal surgery. During this procedure, a small tube, or catheter, is inserted into a vein in order to administer the sedative medication. The doctor is better able to control the level of sedation in this manner, as they can give as much or as little of a sedative to produce, and maintain, a relaxed state. Although some patients may report feeling as though they were “put to sleep,” the goal of this form of sedation is to maintain patient comfort with minimal risk. Once under sedation, patients are able to respond to verbal commands, and can breathe without help. This form of sedation is a great way to relieve anxiety during surgery, and provide amnesia of the surgical event. Dentures
In cases where patients are missing multiple teeth, dental implants can replace both the lost teeth and their roots. Implant supported bridges are permanently fixed and will not move around in your mouth like removable partial dentures.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Over 2 decades of research has culminated in the development of accelerated orthodontics. Teeth may now be moved safely, and approximately 4 times faster. The treatment time for orthodontic cases can be reduced from 18-36 months to 3-8 months. Accelerated orthodontics is a combination of advanced orthodontics and periodontal oral surgery routinely used in dentistry for other objectives.
Jaw Surgery
Osseous Surgery
In the case of more advanced disease, bacteria and the associated inflammation can lead to changes in the shape of the bone around teeth. The normal contour of the bone must be reestablished in order to eliminate the pockets. The gum tissue is gently separated from the bone, making a “flap.” This provides better access to deeper areas of plaque and calculus, and makes it possible to reshape the bone, reducing areas where bacteria can grow. This procedure does not regenerate bone that has previously been lost.
Tooth Extractions
Sometimes the periodontist needs to work with the orthodontist in order to help achieve beautiful and healthy smiles. Surgeries such as periodontal plastic surgery and implants can be done in conjunction with orthodontic treatment to ensure optimal results. We can also help with tooth extraction to make space in patients with crowding, or uncover teeth that are impacted in bone.
Ridge Augmentation
Bone Grafting
Maximal surgical precision is accomplished with minimal soft tissue injury. Particulate bone grafting material is placed over the activated bone (augmentation) prior to suturing. The activated tooth-supporting bone will allow and enhance accelerated tooth movement starting at two weeks post operatively. Both upper and lower jaws can undergo the procedures at the same in-office appointment as well as a single tooth, or groups of teeth.

Orthodontics
Temporary anchorage devices are utilized in conjunction with orthodontics to assist in moving teeth. This procedure involves placement of the TAD (titanium bone anchor) directly through the gums into the bone. The use of TADS is revolutionary, eliminating unwanted movement of anchorage teeth, decreasing treatment time and making headgear a thing of the past for patients.
Braces
Traditional orthodontic procedures like braces can take anywhere from 2 – 3 years. Our new AOO procedure can have your orthodontic treatment finished in 6 – 12 months.
