Mariana is a family nurse practitioner who is board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Her career as a health care provider started when she attended the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where she earned a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) in December 2015. After working as a registered nurse (RN) in labor and delivery, she obtained a master of science in nursing (MSN) and became a nurse practitioner in December 2019.

Cervical Cancer
We perform breast, cervical, and endometrial biopsies to confirm or identify abnormal tissue in the body. A small sample of tissue is taken, usually with a needle, and examined under a microscope. A breast biopsy checks for breast cancer, a cervical biopsy checks for cervical cancer, and an endometrial biopsy is done to check for uterine cancer or to determine the cause of abnormal uterine bleeding.
