Wow!!!, just try the the T-Rex or the Gunslinger... My wife and I went with some friends and we agree that this is one of the best restaurants in Memorial area. Besides the pizzas, ladies order the Insalata Candelari and a Salmon and they we're impressed with the flavor an the freshness of the ingredients.

Seems like they have a new Steak, Rib-eye I think... It looked delicious at the other table.

Service was attentive and friendly. Can't wait to go back.

What Candelari's is doing just...

What Candelari's is doing just isn’t good enough. If you improve quality and service you certainly should see a significant increase in repeat business, just not mine.

How did you hear about us?: I live in the area and used to frequent the place when it was Las Adas, and El Chile Relleno. I received a coupon from your website after signing up.

When did you visit? LUNCH

Date & Time: 05/30/2011 Noonish

How was your experience?

Food: Pizza - Poor, Salad - Good, Sausage - way off temperature (food violation)

Service: Poor - 6 minutes before you even acknowledge you have a customer waiting to be seated

Atmosphere: Missing soul. Missing something.

Cleanliness: Floors were clean. Unappetizing when you have to shoo a fly off your meal.

Will you come again? No.

COMMENTS/SUGGESTIONS:

Coupons will bring customers in, but it certainly will not bring them back. If your staff cannot recognize when customers come in the door, maybe your should close your doors. Maybe you should hire some of the kids who trained at Cici's - at least they know how to greet customers when they walk into an establishment.

If you want to improve your pizzas, bake them at a proper temperature.

Don't bother wasting your money - at the Candelari's on Memorial (just East of Dairy Ashford)

Restaurant opened at 11:00 AM. We arrived at 12:01 (I checked the clock at 12:02 PM) -- and waited in the lobby for at least six (6) minutes before a staff member surfaced at 12:08 PM to greet and seat us. The lobby area or door where customers arrive was completely unattended and staff apparently do not make rounds frequently enough to notice customers are waiting to be seated.

We opted to try their buffet for $9.95 since they offered salad, as well as a few pizzas, pasta, sausage and something that resembled chicken wings.

The salad was great. Fresh feta cheese and olives always seduce me. Lettuce and greens were fresh.

The sausage was off temperature and somewhat lukewarm, a health violation for sure. Staff should check the temperature of the food being served. The sausage was good. It had a nice flavor, but would have been more enjoyable had it been served hot.

Half-way through the meal there was a single fly buzzing around our table and food.

The Margherita was brought out fresh, so I got to sample it before it sat under the buffet lamps. This pizza was a bit under-baked. After peeling back the cheese you can see the dough was not quite baked enough it was still quite doughy (not fully baked). Either their oven is not hot enough or the time in the oven was too short. The kitchen is concealed so you cannot see what type of oven is being used or if the kitchen is clean.

Pepperoni pizza was not noteworthy, and appeared to have been under the buffet lamp for awhile.
